  1. I was uncomfortable about that turn when this thread first started, and though I didn't mention it, I did bump the "usual" Supreme Court thread (which is also not really following the original topic either, but whatever), thinking that people could post tributes and such here, and the politics stuff there. Upon further reflection, though, I read the thoughts of Elizabeth Warren and others, and they are saying that Ruth Bader Ginsburg wouldn't want people to despair... she would want them to FIGHT. I suspect that's right from everything I've read about her, and the fact that she tol

  2. Kind of gruesome how a thread to memorialize RGB has turned into what it has. But, 2020. I leaned towards the middle on a lot of issues. But right now after the past 4 years. If the D's take the WH and Senate. They should jam through everything they every wanted under the sun. Expand court sizes? ****... go for it. Get rid of life time appointments and make them like 16-20 year terms? Yes. Make election day a national holiday. Yup. Create laws that punish voter suppression with minimum long-term jail sentences. Agreed. Take money away from the wall and fat military budget and moder

  3. Haskins playing poorly is the fault of all you people who ****ed and moaned about Alex Smith running a boring offense when the team was 6-2. You've brought garbage energy to our team and now we shall suffer. Jerks. Look what you've done. You know who you are.

  5. 9 starts. You want to make a determination after 9 starts? And I demonstrated quarterbacks that improved accuracy and performance later in their career and you dismissed them like they played in the 70's. Here is another (some will disagree with me, but the numbers speak for themselves, IMO) but Josh Allen went from low-50% his 1st two years in the league to over 70% this year. Ryan Tannehill is another. Matt Stafford's 1st 10 starts were horrific. Writing Haskins off after 9 starts is 2001-level Dan Snyder impatience.

  8. I am straddling the fence with Haskins. I get the criticisms. I do think his accuracy among other things can be evaluated regardless of his weapons. I wasn't a Haskins guy before the draft so I've never been in the camp that he's an obvious franchise QB. In my layman's opinion, I wasn't wowed by him coming out of the draft. But I did and do like aspects of his game so I don't think its mission impossible for him to evolve into a really good QB. I wouldn't put money on it but it wouldn't shock me either. I think we go on the ride and let Haskins hopefully learn as he goes.

  10. Poor quality “supporting casts” don’t make great players look like bums. Those teams will lose despite having a good player, but talent always shows. We’ve all seen very good players on bad teams. Does anyone really think Haskins looks like a good QB on a bad team? Haskins needs to improve and the season is still young. Kirk Cousins had a few seasons where he played like hot garbage early and then turned things around. Maybe we’ll see something like that. Maybe he can figure out the cause of his first half struggles and just start faster. Who knows? Bottom line however is th

  11. I'm sure some people wouldn't be happy if he came in and started playing like Mahomes on Day 1. Some people are just never happy no matter what. I've said before, I'm not a believer in Haskins but he needs time. No one said he'd be amazing from Day 1. It's unfair to expect that he would be. In regards to accuracy, IMO that's the only thing that should really matter when looking for a quarterback. If I'm ever picking a QB, I'm taking the most accurate guy in the draft. Everything else is secondary.

  12. I don’t think the swing voter cares about SCOTUS in a traditionally conservative way. These people are socially moderate, generally low to middle class, who care about their paycheck and healthcare. They’re relatively low information voters and are therefore susceptible to Trump’s bull**** about the economy and bringing back jobs. Biden has two advantages here: one is pointing out the blatant hypocrisy on the part of republicans between Garland and this vacancy. It’s not a good look. And early opinion polls support that. The second, the big one, is this helps Biden pivot th

  13. Drew Brees Eli Manning Ben Rothliesberger threw 23 INTs his third year in the league, and eclipsed 20 TDs for the 1st time in his 4th year. And, Haskins doesn't even have a full season of starts under his belt yet. He need more patience and time, something fans want to scream about for the organization to demonstrate, but don't want to exhibit themselves.

  14. Also- This "BLM is violence and hate speech" BS is absolutely a transparent ploy to express racism from a pretend position of victimhood. SO tired of people who have had the political/societal upper hand for the entire life of this country acting like they're victims of something. There have been obvious issues with police on people of color for decades (at least) and now that a movement like BLM has come about, the MAGA party has once again found a way to make this something they are "victims" of and it's disgusting.

  15. I think what happened in this game was simple, when you're down 7-0 and you get a interception early you need to score points, that could have changed the entire complexion of the game. Not only do we fumble away those points inside the 10 yard line but on AZ's next offensive series the D comes out and gets a 3 and out and then we fumbled the punt return. That was the game right there. Haskins didn't do us any favors, very skiddish when he throws a pass.

  16. A completion rate is determined by more than a QBs accuracy. Some of Dwaynes "missed" throws are not actual placement issues. they're him pushing the ball downfield but keeping it away from defenders. If you want to to push it vertically but you don't have good receivers, and more basic than that, you don't have good sync with the receivers you do have, you're just not going to complete these throws most of the time. So you can either dial it back and throw gimmes and low options the whole game like a Minshew or an Alex Smith. It's not bad but there is no real develo

  18. They're not just playing politics, they're actively destroying the FDA. The good people at the FDA who rely on science and data won't compromise on the regulations in place and the ethics of getting drugs/vaccines approved as their first consideration is always safety. Those people will leave, especially since ex-FDA staffers can make big bucks in pharmaceutical consulting. The FDA will be left with a weakened, less experienced staff that will make more mistakes (adversely affecting health and safety of the people due to incompletely or improperly reviewed products getting approved) and it

I'm not a conspiracy theorist... but I wonder if the league told the Snyder's... or the Cardinals told the Snyders... that they didn't want them in their stadium and the cover was negative test covid exposure. 21. We played the #1 pass defense today. He didn’t throw a interception and he got better as the game went on. Let’s give the Cardinals some credit here. Also let’s look at our system as a whole not just one player.

  22. This can be a very frustrating fanbase to deal with. I think anyone who tries to evaluate Haskins fairly up to this point, has consistently said the same things, and nothing has changed since the beginning. To say he has shown no flashes is ridiculous -- the last two games of last year, he showed flashes How can we already forget that, it was only two games ago in the Haskins timeline??? 2 starts, 1 mediocre, and 1 bad, and we've already forgotten what was an elite level worth of 2 games? I mean come on, lets try to keep a vaguely even keel. I know both me and vols

  23. People need to watch this video to understand what's going on. I totally agree with Riviera. Look at the video below, starting at 6:05. To paraphrase, Ron Riviera thinks he is so hyped in the first quarter that he goes through his progression very quickly, or throwing the ball too quickly (by the way, time to throw stats back this up). Further, he says that Haskins is making the right reads and the right decisions. Due to progressing too quickly, he is throwing the ball inaccurately. He also talks about Dwayne's throw to Logan Thomas around 11:45. Which, again, he attributes to speedi

  27. I think it’s pretty obvious Kyle Allen is the better QB RIGHT NOW. If you asked me point blank, with my house on the line, who starts at QB for us this week at Cleveland and if I lose my house goes with it... I start Allen. That said, due to our investment and his physical tools (along with some glimmers or flashes here and there) I am OK starting Haskins right now because we have to find out who he is. The only issue I see is that Allen is also pretty young— last year was his second in the league and the first starting— and the results were decent. He looked somewhat promising. So the issue t

  29. “3rd round draft pick as his star WR” is intentionally downplaying Terry McLaurin’s talent. Doesn’t matter where he was drafted, Terry plays like a future star. Is there a team that wouldn’t gladly take him off our hands? I doubt it. Haskins may not have the best group of receivers but he certainly has at least one good one.

  30. I feel like Haskins’ game - At it’s best - requires him to have expert knowledge of the offense he’s in and the defense he’s seeing in order to be as effective as possible. He himself models his game after the GOAT and that’s how he is able to destroy teams at his best. He’s not a guy who can make plays with his legs often enough that they matter. And he’s not a scramble drill type player either. So for him to be successful, it’s going to take more time than 2 games in an offense and 9 games overall. I get that you see other QBs doing that. But they have a different skill s

  31. Well, some people here certainly know. Just ask them. It's hilarious that people would want to sit Haskins for...Kyle Allen. Or an old Alex Smith who's got 25% of a knee left. People are ****ing about Haskins incessantly and...what's the alternative?

  32. Living in Bills country, Haskins is not Allen. In any way. Allen is big, strong, athletic, has a strong arm and has a ridiculous competitive fire. Haskins is missing a lot of that, aside from the arm. They process things similarly, Allen struggles with reads at times. But the strong arm and processing is about where it stops comparatively. Allen was fully embraced by almost the entire Bills fan base, coaching staff, front office from day one. Haskins wasn’t. They are different. In many ways.

  33. Haskins doesn't have it. He may be able to be a good game manager, he may be able to win games when the defense constantly gives him the ball back w/ good field position, but he will never go out a win a game like that kid Murray did. Is there anything that DH actually does well? I'd take Minshew right now over DH.
