  1. Good article. For those that don't get the Post here's a nugget focusing on Haskins' new found maturity and leadership worth sharing... [quote] ...Rivera has reached out to Meyer twice since taking the job in Washington — something the previous regime in Washington never did, Meyer said, even though Meyer believes “there were some things that they needed to know” about the young quarterback... His knowledge of the game is 10 out of 10. He really understands the game of football. The only minuses were his leadership, a little bit of

  2. Protection and reps. The mechanical issues are uniquely grotesque (though not necessarily confining), the talent is undeniable, the toughness is there, the leadership is coming.

  3. Manusky’s issues were evident. His dropping guys into coverage in and of itself wasn’t the real problem. It was who, when and how. There was predictability to it. Which eliminates the reason for running an odd front. He also had other issues that stemmed from organizational failures.

  4. Ah. Yes. John Burrow. I believe he played for San Jose Prep in the early 2000s. Strong arm. Talented. Too bad about the foot that was just one giant toe. He could have made it. Joe Burrow, though, was the first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. When you draft second, you cannot choose the guy that was drafted before your selection. Id actually argue he showed pocket awareness for the most part by getting rid of the football. He forgot how bad the line was once, double clutched, and never forgot again.

  7. Having room for improvement as a rookie pass rusher after his first NFL game without any real preseason while going against one of the best LTs in the past decade plus = expected Having room for improvement as a rookie pass rusher after his first NFL game without any real preseason while going against one of the best LTs in the past decade plus while still getting 1.5 sacks, 4 pressures, a forced fumble, and being the 5th highest graded edge defender of the week = holy ****

  8. This is where statistics get lost on me. If one was to read “7 of 8 sacks, Wentz held the ball for 4+ seconds” one would conclude that a bad Wentz was more responsible for the sacks than our good defense. But, off the top of my head, at least three sacks Wentz ducked and ran off another 2-3 seconds after 1st contact trying to avoid another tackler. Plus, the secondary coverage also likely contributed to Wentz not being able to release the ball when he wanted to. Wentz looked pretty darn good in the first half and I bet Philly fans were already popping champagne corks. This is why st

  10. I was just listening to Cooley's commentary on Young after watching the game over. He thinks he's an ALL Pro already. He made a similar comment to my observation which was cool for me to hear because it was thought more than any that made me fall hard for the dude early last season. That is, the dude is just so disruptive play after play. If you watch our other D lineman, that's not the case. Chase is in another category. That's what took me about Chase, too. I spent a couple of off seasons re-watching our D line a lot, posted many clips on different threads while doing it, a

  11. I think we need to commit to AG, he needs a minimum of 15 touches a game imo. The whole gameplan seemed disjointed and lost, initially. Barber should not be getting 17 touches imo. Empower the kid and lets see what he has. McKissic is no CT. Let 24 get busy.

  15. This is a pretty good video. It's every play from Chase Young. It's long - about an hour. But really shows his talent. It also showed some other guys doing well - Tim Settle in particular. I swear that guy starts on any other team. He highlighted the play I liked most - when he saw a swing pass pass developing and got off Peters and chased the play down from behind. Crazy awareness. As Rico calls it - it's a very high IQ play.

  16. I was already drunk, but hearing about RBG kicked it into overdrive. I am mourning a giant, and of course worried (and certain) that she will be replaced by a ****head. Speechless. We are all ****ed. More coherent remarks tomorrow. Gonna seriously get into the Makers. Will set my marker down that if Trump fills this seat, Biden HAS to expand the court.

  17. She was such a force of good for the country and a model of how to live a life of service. I think before we think about politics and how scared we should be about the stacking of the court we should spend a moment to acknowledge and thank a woman who fought for this country's people literally to her breath. I am very scared about the future though. Murkowski said that she will not vote to confirm. If two other Republicans follow suit than McConnell will not have his way. I have zero doubt that McConnell will not shrink from rushing a vote for a judge disregarding his BS about dead

  19. Yes, in Virginia it has. I've been thinking every time the White House Occupant spews his lies about cheating, voter fraud, mail-in ballots: WTF are you doing to make it better? More secure? You have everything at your disposal to ensure this is legit. Instead, you stand in front of a microphone whining about cheating. Tell us how you're making it more secure. The media have no ballz.

  20. If you’re referring to pass rush win rate, you’re misunderstanding. It measures how often a defender beats his blocker in 2.5 seconds or less, so you would have a high rate even if you didn’t record a sack or if it took you longer to actually get the sack. It’s a completely objective measurement that is based on tracking data, using chips in the players’ helmets. We were well below average in this stat last year as well, and most of us attributed it to playing in a 2-gap system versus 1-gapping. Well, we’re 1-gapping now. If we continue to grade out as below-average in thi

  21. 1)_ I definitely do..."lame duck" coach, "best thing" was for the team to do what the Browns did a few years before, "Tank for Tua" started up before the 2019 draft--was another reason some didn't want us to draft Haskins... 2) DE on a 4-3 with Del Rio as coach vs OLB on a 3-4 with Manusky as coach is a huge difference in my eyes. I don't just want an elite player who can overcome coaching flaws and scheme fit...I want an elite player who has coaches that know exactly the best way to maximize their talent and a scheme that's a good fit for them. I don't have any faith that Manusky

  25. He actually reminded me of a stronger armed Alex Smith this week. Not awe inspiring. Didn’t make ridiculous throws into tight windows... got rid of the ball fairly quickly... didn’t turn the ball over. As a progression step for him I really like that mindset/blueprint. Hopefully he elevates beyond that, but if he turns out to be close to Alex Smith there’s much worse ways to be. You can tell he’s listening to 11. I really like Smith. His contract? Not so much. But Smith? I like him a lot. And I don’t think we’re 3-13 with Smith last year. Though in hindsight

  26. I agree but don't recall anyone rooting for losses from day 1. Not me. I get the point. And I was no Manusky fan. But on the D line beasts play like beasts. Man versus man. Chase is just better than the dude in front of him. Even with Manusky IMO that would bear out. Kerrigan has typically gotten double digit sacks even with the medicore D coordinators that we've arguably had all the way back to Haz. Our other D lineman IMO are good but they aren't Chase Young level talent. He's a peg better. Bad coached teams can have elite players. I agree its harder to do. But
