It's kinda wild how the NFL works sometimes. As I said, Kyle and Ron didn't know each other previously, but:

Rivera worked in SD while Kyle's dad (AJ Smith) was the GM.

Kyle and Scott Turner are both 2nd generation NFL lifers now in the same building whose dads also crossed.
