Reuben Foster Will Not Be Suspended!!

I think his point is the sum of its parts with Foster. It's not just one thing, it's all the things combined. I'd bet everything I own that many of the folks here hellbent on downplaying Foster's actions wouldn't be doing that if he was on the Cowboys roster. He'd be a hoodlum jailbird and a bunch of hahaha going on.

This will happen once the older generation of Cuban Americans are no longer a major political voice in Florida politics.
  9. So they need to shake up the lines a bit. I think they should put Kuzy with Ovie and Wilson again. Burakovsky needs to step up and Vrana needs to figure it out again. This series will tell us if Rierden is a good coach or not.

    2019 Comprehensive Draft Thread

McCoy has joined some other players at the top of my draft board for the 15th pick. IF you can believe what we are hearing, the Skins don't want to trade back from 15, because they believe they need an impact player. They also reportedly want a player that can contribute immediately. Given that they just resigned Ioannidis and tend to draft for need, I think interior DL is not on the list. They probably think they are ok for tackle for right now and just need developmental guys there. I don't think they take a tackle early unless he can also play guard. That leaves a short list, and I think interior OL is on that list. IAt the 15th pick, I would think they would consider: Hockenson Bush/White Passrusher Marquise Brown Interior OL What I want is a pro-bowl player at that spot. We don't have enough impact players. My second consideration would be a guy that improves our overall team speed. It's more than a little interesting that both Kiper and McShay now have us taking Marquise Brown at 15. I would like that pick. I actually think that Erik McCoy would be a solid pick at 15. You can see what solidifying the middle of the OL did for Indianapolis. McCoy is a physical bully, has solid size, is strong and athletic. He can win at the point of attack and is also very good in space. He's already looked very good against Quinnen Williams and Jefferey Simmons and Christian Wilkins. He had possibly the best athletic and strength testing for an OL at the combine, meaning that his athletic tools match what you see on tape. Erik McCoy plugs in as a day one starter at center and could easily make the Pro Bowl as a rookie. Given the return of Scherff, who should have no residual from his pec, if we can find a solid but unspectacular starter at LG, we should have a fantastic interior line.
  11. I will not vote for them or anyone with a D next to their name. At that point, nothing else will be necessary to empower Trump and the Republicans. If the democratic leadership wants to continue with a gutless style of leadership in the face of continued debasement of our politics, I do not want them anywhere close to leadership and power. Not hitching a ride with the team that brings pillows to a gun fight.

Save us, Elias, you're our only hope - The 2019 Orioles

Just enjoying this team's fight. You can tell they try and they care. Last year felt like the team was just going through the motions. The young guys on the team are hungry and you can tell. Obviously they'll lose a lot of games but as long as they fight I'm good with it.

So Assange the self anointed prophet of truth was himself knowingly lying and spreading a false conspiracy theory? If that's your hero then I suspect you were deprived of oxygen as a child.
  16. Ok, yeah there is a nuance to that. On play stoppages, the visiting team changes lines first, then the home team changes. Then the lines are set until puck drop. In the playoffs, it’s one of the advantages to having home ice. You see the line the other team puts out and then you can match the line you want. That’s what they mean by having the last change. But once the puck is in play, you can switch however you want.
  17. Okay thanks. Maybe I've misheard, but I'd swear I've heard announcers use the phrases "Caps have the next change" or "Caps have the first change" or something like that. So I had always assumed that once you rolled out a new line, you couldn't roll out another line until the opponent had done so, they had to take turns. Guess I just misinterpreted that. Not like I could follow it anyway, even when I've gone to a game in person, I couldn't keep track of everyone and how quickly they were on and off the ice.

Why in the world would they waste a 3rd round pick on the guy that invented the Super Soaker? Dude has almost zero lateral movement. Kiper is terrible! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lonnie_Johnson_(inventor)

The fact that we rarely start quickly offensively & never score on our opening possession of the 3rd lead me to believe Jay is something less than ordinary. It’s not easy to be as incompetent as we’ve been to open every 2nd half since McVay left.

Excellent point, and about the 100th reason why Snyder should have fired the F.O. after this year. Coaching staff is a bit harder of a decision. I don't think there's anything particularly wrong w/Jay Gruden anywhere near the scale w/whats wrong w/the F.O. I think he's shown if you give him enough tools he can at least be league average but our F.O. has given him a dog poo D, and when they finally improved it, they got rid of his QB. Not a lot of point in drafting a QB w/a F.O. in the, "getting the blindfold put on," mode of a firing squad situation. Damn good point you made.

Agreed on all counts, particularly the need for explosive athletes. I thought Sweat looked absurdly explosive in the sr bowl, I didn’t watch a ton more, I imagine the sr bowl was not what was always on display at msu or he’d have had 18 sacks. The pressure % being higher for Sweat surprised me a bit, but Burns looks like he gives up on plays that he wouldn’t if he was 23 rather than 21 & that could create a fairly significant difference for him. Sweats 3 cone & short shuttle show promise of more, it’s not easy to get 6-6 260 touching the ground and back in 7 seconds. Burns has the twitch, undeniably... he looks formula 1 to Sweats NASCAR; I’ve never watched a race in my life, but that’s the analogy that seems most fitting.

Burns I think is twitchier and can bend IMO better than Sweat. As a pure pass rusher I prefer Burns. But I like Sweat's skill set as for being a well rounded player who can also stop the run -- with his insane long arms and speed he's a freak.

I like Sweat too. He doesn't play faster than Burns. He looks slower off the ball. His short area quickness isn't as good. His pursuit isn't as good. Some people play faster than they test and vice versa. I'd honestly be fine with any of the pass rushers, but I'm not sure any would be my favorite at that slot. I wonder if there is any chance that Sweat's issue drops him to the 2nd round. I'm not sure who I think will be better between Sweat and Burns and Ferrell. I worry a little about all of them for different reasons. I like Burns because he brings something different to our defense. We lack a speed rusher and we lack team speed in general.
