I don't disagree, I just think that if the Giants have Maye above McCarthy tier wise, then they will pay far more than just normal moving from 6 to 3 $$$ because part of this is its a QB and part of this is tiers, if you think McCarthy is closer to Penix than to Maye, you are going to pay moving up for Maye similarly to the Raiders going up for Daniels regardless of draft value charts or the Jimmy Johnson chart etc because it's QB, so there is no real valid chart for trade ups.

It was especially hard for the three or four of us (I was one) who expressed concerns about the serious knee injury he had in college. We had just gone through a major disappointment with using a top pick on a supposed stud wr (Malcomb Kelly if memory serves) who had a major knee injury and before him it was another guy that was a pretty high pick. After that first guy I was skeptical on Kelly. Just didn't like major knee issues before they even get to the NFL. So after two in recent years pre rg3 I was concerned, especially with his rag doll reaction to tackles. Of course knee surgery has come s long ways in just the last ten years. This I know from personal experience too. So some of us have a little deeper and more nuanced grounds for our "rg3 trauma" when we watch film of JD. Still I'm ready to be optimistic of he's our pick.

@Warhead36 if you are looking for some Maye optimism, here's some from Finebaum. Now he cames out on the point with an angle you'd hate but he hits the same destination regardless. He's not a fan of Maye. He thinks Daniels is the easy pick at 2. But he goes its a loser franchise so maybe they take Maye

The Washington Nationals Thread: The Future is Near!

THis is the offseason to spend. Sign Corbin Burnes. Go after Max Fried. Walker Beuler is a free agent. He's a complete moron and a wierdo, but I'd over look that if Alonso was hitting 45 bombs on Half Street. With Wood and Crews likely this year, House likely next year. Ciolek taking a different approach to the draft, lets break out of this scrap heap off-seasons and go get some good players. -
I know I am the one who posted the article about the red flags • A team in the top 10 told me Monday they’d heard that any remaining issues between the Commanders and Jayden Daniels’s camp had been smoothed over. And I’m not finding many people with rival teams that don’t think the Heisman winner is D.C.-bound. • So if Daniels goes with the second pick, does that deflate the Las Vegas Raiders’ trade-up opportunities? I’ve heard they’ve continued to call around. But Daniels isn’t the only quarterback that Vegas has been connected to. Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. is another one that I’ve heard Antonio Pierce and his staff are high on.

Your tiers are probably a fair estimate of the consensus view. I think there are teams/scouts that have the tiers differently and we may be among them. For example there's evidence to support Caleb and Daniels as both on the top tier. Cooley certainly believes this, and I've read or heard somewhere that at least one unnamed team/GM had Jayden ranked number one overall-- though that would certainly be a minority view. Also, I've read that at least some teams view Nix as better than, or at least equal to Penix. to So this could be another legitimate tier ranking: Tier 1: Caleb, Daniels Tier 2: Maye, McCarthy Tier 3: Penix, Nix Tier 4: Rattler Tier 5+: The rest
