Welcome to the Redskins Dwayne Haskins QB Ohio State

Depends on what leg of it we are talking about as to his analysis. He on a bunch of the QBs did his initial take on the first games he watched, then he added as he watched more, he talked about it especially on appearances on other podcasts like Sheehan's, etc. I don't recall him killing Rosen on the first leg but he was definitely mixed where he killed him as part of a mixed narrative. And what he didn't like he really didn't like. But he was the same on that front on other QBs. I wrote it up at the time on the draft thread. Loved his footwork-intermediate accuracy. Didn't like his touch on short passes and he thought he had too many erratic moments in games. He softened on him over time. He talked about him some more I recall when the rumor was hot that he might come here in a trade and he actually liked the idea of getting him. That's why my summary of his take was mixed but more positive than negative. Cooley's take on some players changed the more he watched including Daniel Jones.

The Official Washington Wizards Thread: The JOHN WALL ERA

What part of the last 20 years has led you to think that this organization is going to look anything less than really stupid? Why even worry about that? Lets look at the tape: Q: Is the Front office any different? A: No. The only difference is EG is not here. his protege has taken over after a complete failure of getting a fresh pair of eyes in the building. Why? Because no one wants to be held accountable for the failures of this organization and possibly be blamed/moved. Did Shep have no say at all in allowing Oubre/Rivers/Porter get moved without any return at all? (a 2nd in 2022 and 2023 is nothing). Hard to believe this was done in a vacuum. Q: Is the coaching any different? A: Scott Brooks is still the coach. The genius who played Jeff Green at the 5 half the season, and turned Oubre and Porter into iso ball handlers when their skill sets are 3 and D Q: 4 straight years, this has been our biggest hole... Do we have a center on the roster? A: No Q: Do we have a pg on the roster that can suit up? A: No Q: Do we have a backup sg? A: No This list goes on. I dont mind the Rui pick. I will root for him. But to worry about how the Wizards are going to appear to another country is unnecessary. You already know how we will appear. Ask the first 10 people you run into today what their thoughts are of the Wizards. Theres your answer. Anyways, why should one city hold the monopoly on depressing, snake-bit, dysfunctional, and unaccountable organizations? Its time to share the load. Want to know how we will appear to Japan? Here's a fun story of my time in China. I tutored on the side for some cash and came across a client with the name, Gilbert. Chinese typically choose their own English name. So I asked him, why did he choose that name. Its extremely uncommon in Asia. He replied, " Gilbert Arenas is my favorite basketball player." Shocked, I asked him if he followed the Wizards. " No. They are terrible." In time, this will be the same for Japan.

    Such courage.
  6. Trump also said some tough talk today but he soft as baby poo.
  7. Did we put in a claim on Harrison? I hope so, but I didn’t see anything after finding out he was picked up.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but you're being polite about his views on Rosen. Unless I'm thinking of someone else, then "Concerns about his decision making" seriously downplays the criticisms.

    US Soccer thread.

I just cant care about this WWC with all of the negativity coming from the USWNT fans, and perhaps people just using the USWNT, to trash the mens team. I dont understand the need to split and trash the two/lift up one by trashing the other. Really soured me on watching the games to the point I just cant get into it. Im pretty frustrated with a lot going on with the mens team as my rants here indicate, but thats very different than what a lot of people are doing. On the mens side, I have only seen a little bit of Paxton Pomykal, but from what I have seen he looks to be really good. What exactly do Will Trapp or Michael Bradley do better then him? On a smaller sample size of the U-20 World Cup and a couple of club games, a midfield with Pomykal, McKennie, and Adams would be awesome. Anyone more familiar with Pomykal than I am that can shed some light?

While I see what you mean, there is a huge section of Spider-Man comics where Peter uses his own technology to improve his tech. And Stark did give him an Iron Spider suit around the time of the Civil War in the comics, so all of that stuff is rooted in comic lore just as much as Spider-Man being a solo act was. There is still overarching "can I be a real hero?" story arc for the third season that really works, especially considering the differing opinions of the cast on what a hero actually is. But I think some of the final episode undoes some of what they developed, especially the last shot, but I get the want to keep it open ended considering the character has a chance to return on Disney+.

He's worthy, but not more so than Giannis or Gobert IMO. Giannis led the best D in the league and Gobert led the second best D. The Thunder were too five but not as good as the Bucks and Jazz. 2013 ended up being a remarkable draft. I can't remember another class where the top ten was so weak, and where it became so clear so quickly that the teams picking on the lottery has screwed up so bad on Giannis and Gobert. We basically knew early in 2014 that they should have gone 1 and 2. Now they're two of the most valuable players in the NBA.

    Random Tech/IT Thread

Im planning on getting my MCSA Server 2016 certification done by the end of this year and shortly after hoping to upgrade it to an MCSE and at some point next year to Server 2019 as well. Anyone have experience taking this certification and can tell me what to expect/how difficult it is? I work in a very large enterprise environment as an admin, will be taking a covered 1 week course for the first exam and then the last two exams for the MCSA I have a couple online courses I am taking on my own.

I got that a couple years ago with no background in cyber....it was hard as **** and I basically spent an entire week doing a 1000 question quiz over and over and over again that the bootcamp work paid for provided me. I barely passed. The test has changed since I took it, so I'm not sure anything I did would be helpful

I second this. Her upper lip/jaw/chin thing is unsettling. She has an amazing personality and is hilarious though.
  17. Sounds good to me. Protection is key. Had we taken Murray, yeah bye bye Trent and no worries. But we probably drafted the QB that needs Trent the most. My desire to see Haskins aside, we just need a left tackle, dammit. Trotting Flowers out there wasn't funny. Sweat oozing confidence probably feels like he is going to get 20 sacks this year. It was kind of telling to see we put in a waiver claim on a tackle. Of course we whiffed. Bruce was forced into showing his lame duck 2 7 off suit hand. He hasn't been dealt a better hand since. Our season could get ugly early, and it will be the exact opposite best time to try the new QB. I keep saying there are many factors above Haskins weaknesses in play here. Jay's uncertain future, Jay in win now mode coaching for his next contract, Trent's uncertainty, KOC's play calling, which I think will be run run pass, run run pass, PAP deep FTW... If our OL falls apart again this year, that is not good for Dwayne. At all. Haskins just needs a good safe consistent environment which will minimize his weaknesses tremendously.

Coming soon: "Sheppard was always our first choice."
  20. A month ago it seemed most thought DH would be the week one starter, certainly that was the case on the ES. I don’t think DH can beat out Case by week 1, but, as you alluded to, if DH is the one option that can threaten the deep part of the field, he becomes the option that creates more room for everyone on the offense. Of course, he’d have to prove he can do it, but it only takes a couple big throws, without egregious mistakes, to produce more value than 10 dump offs followed by punts.
  21. I don’t think that’s true. Ireland, Spain, France, Germany, etc...
  22. I’m not writing him off, the OTA’s were exactly what they were always going to be, those strengths & weaknesses are all over his film. All I want now is to see him protected so he had a legitimate opportunity to grow.
  23. Thanks for sharing that. I heard the tail end of the interview, but had no idea who they were speaking to. It is easy to predict Case would look better early. I wonder, what does QB grooming in week 1 typically entail. Let Haskins throw naturally and get a solid feel for his current game, or start immediately correcting mechanics, or maybe just mention the big things that need work, and let him focus on learning plays and terminology.... all of the above? Depending on what Haskins was asked to do in OTAs heavily influences the spread we see between he and Case. Case should be able to stave off Haskins early on based on vet prowess alone; avoiding risky throws aka INTs, doing what the coach asks, but the kid has to play and its just a matter of when. If Jay waits until Haskins has mastered his footwork and Jay's playbook, Jay will likely be long gone. If the team does well early in the year, maybe Jay gets a mid season extension which I think provides a MUCH better development path for Dwayne. I want to avoid the playbook and coaching turnstile. I think a consistent learning environment for a new CUBE is as important as the famous start week 1 vs. sit a year argument.
