    2019 Comprehensive Draft Thread

Now that Ive finally made my pick in the ES mock draft, I can freely talk about this guy. Trevon Wesco, TE/FB/H-Back West Virginia Earlier on I had touted Foster Moreau of LSU in the 5th to fill the hole of Vernon Davis' inevitable departure (cap casualty). Our blocking from the TE department has been downright poor for years, and Sprinkle has no hands whatsoever. After some tape, Ive changed my mind on Moreau. Trevon Wesco is a barrel chested bruiser that can play the role of TE, lead blocker, and H-Back very well. He can play special teams. He can serve as an extra lineman. The guy can do it all. He has the strength at 6'4" 270lbs to handle the biggest of defensive lineman, and soft enough hands to provide a threat in the flat. Hes not fast, but he will absolutely carry guys for yards, and is reliable as a safety valve target over the middle or in the flat, or as a play-action threat. Really really like this guy.

    Starting QB 2019???

I don't want to move up either. Something else to ponder, fwiw... The last Redskins' QB to win the Super Bowl, we drafted in the 6th Round.

Bit of a conspiracy theory but big business and big media likely fear she would actually crack down on the oligarchy

It's hard to tell intent sometimes and clearly I misread yours. My mistake. Thanks for clarifying.

    Starting QB 2019???

Haskins is the first in over 50 years to be 1st round worthy. I don't think that should have anything to do with Haskins valuation. That said, I don't think he will be there at 15 and I am definitely not in favor moving up to get him.

I apologize if it came across as snarky. Didn't mean it like that, and it didn't even occur to me, that it could have been taken that way. In fact, it was actually quite the opposite. Giving you extra credit for bringing up a positive memory and moment in history, on top of answering a question correctly.

Maybe you didn't mean it that way but it read pretty snarky. I may have misread it I guess. If so, fair enough.

2019 ES GMs Mock Draft - Round 7! - Rds 1-6 in the books!

With the 220th selection in the 2019 draft, The Seattle Seahawks select: Trevon Wesco, H-Back West Virginia 6'4" 220 lbs This front office doesnt believe in mortgaging the future, and with just 4 picks in the 2019 NFL draft, John Schneider has been shown the door with a gift basket consisting of a 3-pack set of Big League Chew, a $50 Eddie Bauer gift card, and a free pair of Warby Parker's courtesy of the Great One: Pete Carroll. We will not tolerate this operatis mundi going forward in Seattle. We had to move back in this draft to reacquire a lost 6th round pick in next years draft, but ultimately selected our original target in the 5th round. The draft room is elated. Trevon Wesco: No, hes not the fastest. He's not acrobatic. Hes not the flashiest. There is no second gear. Its one gear: Maximum Carnage Wesco is in our opinion the most versatile TE in this draft class outside of TJ Hockenson. He can line up anywhere in an offense. A mix of Mike Alstott, James Devlin, and Rob Gronkowski, Wesco found a way to make a name for himself in one of the most TE immune offenses in all of college football. He consistently delivers violent punches at the point of contact on blocks and rolls his hips through contact. If Pete Carroll could figure out how to embed tweets, he would show you the wake of bodies who have attempted to tackle Wesco once he gets rolling. He gets YAC, and it doesnt matter at what speed hes going. Our offense is all about ball control, and pairing Wesco with Dissly provides Seattle with perhaps one of the most dominant blocking TE cores in the league.
  17. Maybe, just maybe if we could do the little things right--like not repeatedly striking out with a man on third and 1 out. How many times have we seen this? I simple sac-****ing-fly and we win that game.

That's a decent theory imo. Taking Case was a good insurance pickup with a backside potential trade for Rosen. Case also comes from the same Air Raid offensive school as They'll be using in AZ. He makes a valuable backup for Kyler as well as a mentor at the pro level. Dont necessarily agree on the draft order of significance as an Edge Rusher and OL starter has much higher need then a rookie WR. I view the Edge as the top priority and then the OL and WR down the line. The issue with WR is the learning curve as it will take 2 yrs to typically breakout as a Pro WR. The Edge, OL, DL positions have more immediate starter ready rookies in rounds 1-3. Therefor you kind of need all the others in place to normally target a WR in the 1st 3 rounds. That's of course skewed when you have a WR as the highest graded player where your picking.

My problem is the 2nd tier QBs are Lock and Jones. But somehow most people think they'll go in the first. Having 6 QBs go in the first 45 (or so) picks would be virtually unheard of. 2011 would be the last draft that happened (1999 would be the time before that if you count Shuan King at 50) and most of those QBs sucked. Newton (who went first overall in 2011) is good, but Andy Dalton's the only other QB who's even decent and he's less than inspiring. And that circles back to what we both agree on. Team may be desperate for QBs, but it's not like college is producing more good QBs. So essentially teams are just forcing bad picks based on supply and demand.
  20. Welp, another managerial search incoming... Rendon will be gone. Strasburg will continue to decline...

Typically it's a good bet to go against the major consensus. When your opponents are all penciling in the W as they look at the new year schedule, I'm bullish. Easy to see how this schedule would benefit the Skins for a fast start vs anything else currently available to evaluate. It's far more likely for all these Alabama players to play well out of the gate vs any of those offenses being overtly consistent from the onset. I view it as more likely for the Skins to have success at the first half of this schedule vs the last half. As the last half has many more tangible factors towards any predictional accuracy.
