Washington owner Dan Snyder is listing his Potomac, Md., mansion, inspired by an 18th Century French château, for $49 million.

Mr. Snyder is the founder of Snyder Communications, a marketing company that sold for $2.5 billion in 2000.

Around the same time, he bought the riverfront property from the estate of Jordan’s King Hussein and Queen Noor, according to TTR Sotheby’s International Realty, the company listing the property. He paid about $8.64 million for the main parcel, but then expanded the property by later acquiring adjacent parcels, bringing the total footprint to about 15.2 acres, according to Sotheby’s.

"The approximately 30,000-square-foot main house, completed in 2004, has zinc gutters and a slate roof. It has two solariums—one serves as a breakfast room, the other is used as a gym. It also has a large double-height drawing room, a formal dining room, a wine cellar, a library, and a restaurant-grade kitchen for entertaining. A winding staircase leads to a master suite which has its own sitting room and his-and-hers bathrooms. There are five bedrooms in total."

So why is he selling? I have not heard about a divorce. Maybe the lag in ticket sales and all of his other failed business ventures are taking a toll?

I'm a little disappointed with just 5 bedrooms.

Need 10, minimum.

Oh, and:

- outdoor shower

- olde style barn

- olympic size pool

- wet bar island inside said pool

... a few more

No, no...Dan, not the house.  The TEAM, sell the TEAM.

Someone needs to hire one of those street hypnotists to do a number on Dan.

...

- bidets in every bathroom (goes without saying)

- full replication of one Augusta fairway and green, somewhere on the property

- an exclusive Jay Kordich juice bar

- stand alone building - weight room

- glass greenhouse

- cordoned off compost pile

... still working

Here's the rest of the WSJ story for those hitting a sign-up wall:

"He built the house from scratch, shipping in limestone from France for its facade, according to listing agent Michael Rankin. The approximately 30,000-square-foot main house, completed in 2004, has zinc gutters and a slate roof. It has two solariums—one serves as a breakfast room, the other is used as a gym.

It also has a large double-height drawing room, a formal dining room, a wine cellar, a library and a restaurant grade kitchen for entertaining. A winding staircase leads to a master suite which has its own sitting room and his-and-hers bathrooms. There are five bedrooms in total.

There is also a two-bedroom guesthouse as well as several loggias, a 12-car garage, a house manager’s residence and a vanishing edge waterfront swimming pool.

A satellite image on Google Maps shows a team-themed basketball court in the team’s red and gold colors. Mr. Snyder bought the team in 1999.

Mr. Rankin said Mr. Snyder, 53, was selling because he and his wife are building another home in the area."

Patiently waiting to hear where his fan gulags are, where he keeps disloyal season season ticket holders, force feeding them rocky road ice cream... a  symbolic representation of their now tense relationship.

You think he has those on the grounds?  No way man, somewhere under the stadium or in the woods next to the parking lots.

And what do you have against Rocky Road?

When the naming rights with FedEx expire, I understand that Bud Light will pay to rename the stadium "The Pit of Misery".

I've suspected he's been cash poor for awhile.  Would make some decisions make a lot more sense.

Someone should convince him to sell. He could get a lot of money for the Skins...

He strikes me as the type of old word tyrant that doesn't mind housing vip prisoners in a sort of elaborately draconian  sub basement underneath his mansion

Maybe with the Chargers owner passing away, Snyder will make a play for an LA team and put the Skins up for sale?

Would be my dream
