Safety D.J. Swearinger is very communicative in the secondary. He is decisive on his calls, too. He made one today at the last second to alert safety Su'a Cravens to drop while Swearinger ran up to cover a tight end with in the flat. It worked: the play was covered.

Terrelle Pryor's ability to create space on certain routes should help him in one important category: yards after the catch. Today, after one route he had space to make a move and juked the defender.

Two players who stood out Wednesday: receivers Terrelle Pryor and Josh Doctson. Pryor consistently created separation on comebacks by getting out of his break quickly. Doctson got off the line well, ran good routes -- with good stems -- to get free. A strong first day for both.

Overheard: One thing that caused a stir in Redskins' camp? A fan showing up in a Dallas jersey. That's a no-no in Redskins territory and fans reacted accordingly. As the fan left, another shouted: "Get him out of here! Get him out of here!" To which a policeman replied: "If you don't settle down, you'll be joining him."

Rookie report: Defensive end Johnathan Allen worked with the first team for a handful of snaps. On one rep, he used quickness to initially beat a double team and then finished with power. Linebacker Ryan Anderson showed his strength on one bull rush, knocking tackle Vinston Painter to the ground. He was more effective using power when rushing.

Best play: Second-year corner Kendall Fuller made a diving interception off Kirk Cousins on a deep post to receiver Brian Quick. Fuller had placed himself in good position to the inside and when the ball was overthrown, he laid out. Fuller looked good during the spring workouts as well. He's been working as the No. 3 corner.

Fuller bouncing back under his old DB coach would be huge for us. Can't wait to watch he and Moreau battle with Breeland.

Edit: Sorry thought I was in the training camp discussion thread, won't happen again mods!

Redskins corner Josh Norman said the Odell Beckham 'stuff' is in the past -- and he only discusses it because people bring it up. He and the Giants' receiver have had their issues the last two years.

The Redskins have five players named Josh, including corner Josh Norman -- four of whom play on defense. It leads to occasional confusion in meetings. "Everyone is Joshing up. It's gonna be a Josh year," Norman said.

Corner Bashaud Breeland is learning what it's like to cover a big receiver. On a couple routes, Breeland had solid coverage vs. Terrelle Pryor yet gave up the catch. Pryor's size and wide catch radius enables him to be open even vs. tight coverage.

Veteran defensive back DeAngelo Hall is almost serving another coach right now with the Redskins. After rookie corner Josh Holsey finished a play, Hall spent a couple minutes going over his technique and gave him pointers.

Junior Galette is holding his own against Trent Williams. Which is saying something.

Can't emphasize enough how well Swearinger has done with his communication so far. See/hear examples each day. Makes a difference.

Galette looking like he's got his burst back. Got low, fired off ball and turned corner in Trent Williams. First challenge for 71 so far.

Will be interesting to see if Galette can overtake Smith, or if they keep Galette as third down specialist. Has looked good vs run today too

Make it two INTs for Holsey now, who dives to make catch on a throw off Colt McCoy.

After admitting he was a little rusty Thursday, linebacker Junior Galette was better Friday. Galette was in the backfield more than the day before, especially when defending the run. In a one-on-one rush vs. Ty Nsekhe, Galette won to the outside then playfully hit coach Jay Gruden, standing in as the quarterback.

The two most aggressive corners on the Redskins when it comes to jams? Quinton Dunbar and Dashaun Phillips. Both were going hard vs. receivers in both one-on-one and seven-on-seven work today. On Thursday they worked on one-hand jams; today they attacked with both hands.

Redskins tight end Derek Carrier sprained his ankle and did not practice Friday afternoon. He's considered day-to-day.
