wolfsire
I've been jamming "In The City" lately and that song really makes The Eagles' Long Run album. Have you got some favorite work by Joe? His James Gang work is priceless.

pjfootballer
In the City is one of my favorite Eagles songs. Good one China. I also like Life of Illusion, Rocky Mountain Way and Life's been good to me.
Busch1724
A true legend!  A good list here: http://i95rock.com/the-joe-walsh-9-to-5-top-9-hit-singles-top-5-forgotten-favorites/  Always partial to his solo and James Gang stuff.
skinsmarydu
Not to go OT, but I've got a "Joe Walsh for President" button around here somewhere from '79-'80. DC-101 did an interview with the Eagles on "The Long Run" album that I taped in the middle of the night when it came out. What a "gang" of geniuses. My kingdom to be able to live "far away from the neon sky".
Phantasm
Saw him at the Warner Theater last year. Â He led off with Walk Away, and I was hooked. Â I'd seen him with the Eagles a few years before, and RIP Glenn Frey, but I think I liked the Walsh solo show better.

He's done some great stuff over the years and is often overlooked as a guitar player, but I'm pretty sure Hendrix said Joe was his favorite. Riggo-toni
Saw him a few weeks ago, though to be honest, I really went just for the opening act (Bad Company). I like In the City, Turn to Stone, and his hits from The James Gang.

Forehead
Wasn't "In The City" the song that plays at the end of The Warriors? I thought it was released under his name, I didn't know there was a cover.

Lombardi's_kid_brother
The James Gang is great because it's about as good as late 60s/early70s rock gets, but it's not been played to death. (The Faces fall into the same category FWIW).
TradeTheBeal!
Walsh/Felder is one of the greatest guitar tandems in rock history. Without those two, the Eagles would be little more than a footnote of the 70s country-rock scene...like Poco or The Flying Burrito Bros.

There are two separate versions of "In the City", the Walsh solo/Warriors version and the one on the Long Run.

wolfsire
Â Check out the 12 minute version of STOP from Yer Album by the James Gang and the 4 minute Live version from The James Gang Live. Both are amazing.
