justice98
They're catching Nile crocodiles in Florida now too which run even bigger. And they can interbreed with the Florida gators, so if that happens (or is happening), that wont be good.

Major Harris
It's a good time to start a discussion about golf courses and the habitat they take up. There are some documentaries you should watch.

Predicto
I've heard about that, but I thought they had said that they couldn't interbreed. They can't. American crocodiles (which are rare) can breed with Nile crocodiles, but alligators are too far removed. Crocs and alligators split off from their common ancestor hundreds of millions of years ago. China
The world record american alligator wasn't caught in Florida, or Louisiana who like to each claim the biggest. Louisiana claims the largest was a 19'2" one caught in 1890 that was estimated to weigh over 2,000 lbs. Of course documentation from then is sketchy at best so it doesn't officially hold the record. In Florida, they claim the largest was 17'5" killed in the Everglades, but again it is unofficial. The largest official gator from Florida was 14'3.5" but only weighed 648 lbs. Apparently one was caught in Florida that was shorter but over 1,000 lbs, and somebody last year caught one that was nearly 15' and weighed 780 lbs (not sure why that doesn't have the record in Florida). The largest from Texas was 14'4" and weighed 900 lbs. The world record holder for the largest American alligator was one caught in Alabama in 2015, was 15'9" and weighed over 1,000 lbs. Bang
It looks exactly like what we imagined dinosaurs were like when i was a kid.. slow, plodding, huge, and full of teeth. What a monster! My favorite part of the video is the off camera voice telling the guy to get closer for perspective. Obviously, he's sleeping with the dude's wife or something. ~Bang

Malapropismic Depository
Maybe it's fake. I thought alligators walked with their belly closer to the ground, and never seen an alligator walk with the swagger of a guy who just scored a TD. Anyway, if he's real, just send over Mugsy, the "Gator Slapping Cat" to show him who's boss
