What happened to the Redskins YouTube channel?

Yeah, I HATE using the crappy redskins.com interface to watch press conferences but they aren't being moved over to the Youtube channel anymore that I can tell, not for a few months.

After McCloughan's latest presser, if you didn't catch it streaming live you had to watch two different chunks of it (which didn't include everything) on the Redskins.com page because it wasn't on their youtube channel and they didn't upload the entire press conference on the website...so annoying.

YouTube is recently getting increasingly strict about content/copyright etc. It's hard to imagine that the actual redskins YouTube from the actual team would be restricted in what they can post, but it's possible.

I think the more likely answer is just laziness on whoever runs the channel. I hate to say it, but I've felt this way about all things redskins when it comes to the modern technology that everyone else seems to be caught up with. Even some twitter things seem to be posted by someone's dad who barely knows how to turn on the computer. We're just not very "hip" in that department it seems.

So glad someone brought this up. Seems like they are starting to put stuff up on Facebook via live streaming...

Hey, Redskins organization... I know there's at least one person that probably browses this message board to be "in the know" on what the fans are talking about. Let me just be honest and let you know that you were killing it when it came to content on YouTube. I loved watching the conferences on there. So I was so disappointed when I looked for the Norman conference and the McCloughan post draft conference and the last video uploaded was from last season.

Long story short, don't do this to us. Those videos had heavy traffic and it was very easy. We don't care why it's not happening, just find a way to make it start happening again. We're heavy a pretty solid off-season and we want to get as much of that content as we can. Storing everything solely on the Redskins site just isn't going to cut it. Do better.

I don't know why all of that just came out of me, but I'm legit pissed that I can't see the stuff about the team that I'm used to seeing.

The quality of the videos that come out of redskins.com are a joke. Most of them appear to filmed with a toaster.

Right. I don't know if they're trying to filter hits back to the Redskins.com site, rather than Youtube, or what, but its disappointing. And the interface is clunky.

Semi-related, but its obvious that they got a younger person to run their twitter account this past year though, the twitter game has stepped up big and whoever is running it seems to be "with it" to a much higher degree than the old fogey they obviously had just cutting and pasting article links on the account before that.

I could have written this verbatim

It really sucks especially on a tablet or iPhone. I would rather not watch than watch on the website

agreed...add me to the "unhappy about this" list. a ) want to watch Scotty Mac pressers ad nauseam. b ) would love to incessantly re-post Scotty Mac pressers on all my Redskins friend's FB timelines. c ) the option WAS there...WAS awesome...& helped keep our football starved offseasons at least quenched enough to where i wasn't resigned to watching old Redskins propaganda footage from the "glory days."

also...the media is pretty Cowboy, & Giant-centric these days if you haven't noticed. would be nice to have something Redskins based to turn to when the mainstreamers start circle-jerkin' every other NFL based show.

I agree with the majority here that it's a problem, especially not being able to watch entire pressers when you want and having them easily accessible.

I was getting frustrated trying to find interviews this offseason and completely forgot about the YouTube channel they used to have. Now I know I wasn't annoyed for no reason, I just didn't realize what was missing, lol.

But I do want to say that the Redskins media team has been generally awesome since last year. They've improved big time in terms of social media, specifically. They were a disaster there for a long time.

Totally mystified by how a team with our resources, an owner IN COMMUNICATIONS, and huge fanbase seems to be near the bottom of the league when it comes to:

- video quality,

- AUDIO quality,

- accessibility of online content

- social media presence

There's a lot of untapped potential here that's in serious need of an upgrade.
