Califan007 The Constipated
I hope we covered ourselves if his injury issues resurface. It's called "depth" lol...and there's no part of me that thinks Allen, Schaffer and Scot M somehow didn't consider that when coming up with Reeds' contract. Morrison J
Crazy to think probably our two most important pieces on our roster, Reed and Cousins, began last year as 2nd string on the depth chart. We've improved so much.
Riggo#44
I am going to celebrate Jan 7, every year, as the Feast of St. McCloughan. I will treat it like a Friday during Lent, abstain from eating meat. I love this deal--as far as the injuries are concerned, something Cooley said, in regards to Keenan Robinson last year. Cooley said there were whispers that Robinson didn't want to play through pain--similar to Jordan Reed. Someone talked to Reed, essentially said, are you going to be the type of player that is always hurt, or are you going to be the guy who lives up to his potential? Fortunately, Reed chose the latter. Anecdotal evidence, and Reed could certainly get hurt again, but he is probably the 2nd best TE in the game, behind Gronk.
CTskin
I want Reed to be a Skin for life, but his injury problems do worry me. I was hoping we would let him play out his final year and then tag him if he stayed healthy. If he got hurt this year or next year under the tag, it would be a good bargaining chip for us when negotiating a long term deal with him. I guess that would be the more jerky approach. Riggo#44
Um, Bethard says "hello" lol... If he wins the Big One under Snyder...he will rival Gibbs.
Sacks 'n' Stuff
The word "uncoverable" gets thrown around a lot these days... When he's on the field, he's an absolute beast and without even seeing the numbers, I'm confident we will be protected if injuries resurface. Alright Kirk's cousin. You're up next. Epochalypse
It's time to stop doubting or questioning this current structure and decisions of the front office. You'd be hard pressed to find a bigger supporter of Scot's work here then me, but to suggest that means I can't express what I would like to see included in the details of a contract before that information is released is laughable. bobandweave
Very happy with this news. However reserving judgment for now until I see the guaranteed money and structure. I wanted this done just don't want to see us taken to the cleaners.

clskinsfan
Hail Yeah!!! That makes things so much easier next off season. Reed is heading towards super stardom if we can keep him healthy. And it sends the same RIGHT message to the team. Progress in the system. Do your job and you will be rewarded. Awesome signing!
Epochalypse
It's called "depth" lol...and there's no part of me that thinks Allen, Schaffer and Scot M somehow didn't consider that when coming up with Reeds' contract. Depth is an entirely different issue and in fact is counter to this. The more you pay a player the less you have to pay for the depth behind them. And I agree I would hope that Allen, Schaffer and Scot did consider it. But until I see what form that consideration took in this contract, I'll just say I am interested in seeing what form that consideration took in this contract. Califan007 The Constipated
If he wins the Big One under Snyder...he will rival Gibbs. No he won't lol... If he goes to the "Big One" 4 times and wins at least 3 of them, THEN he will. But just once won't do it, even under Snyder lol...What Gibbs and Bethard accomplished in 10+ years was incredible. Will take something equally incredible to challenge Gibbs in any way, shape or form (and again, winning under Snyder doesn't qualify lol)... Bang
Great news. For so long we had players not worth keeping.. overpaying for the trash of others. Everything is opposite, and i love it. It will translate to wins. ~Bang

The more you pay a player the less you have to pay for the depth behind them. When you have good scouts and a GM who's great at finding talent, you find quality depth all over the place...and it doesn't require significant sums of $$ to acquire.
