PCS
Welcome young man,to the Redskins. Long couple of days that part is done. Next part coming up. Good luck. Keith Marshall RB Georgia 5'11" 219 lbs. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/keith-marshall?id=2555459 OVERVIEWIt was hoped Marshall would be the next great back to play between the hedges. He was the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year as a high school senior, rushing for nearly 1,900 yards, and recruiters appreciated that he was the state Class AAAA 100-meter dash champion. Marshall made a great first impression, taking 117 carries as a true freshman for 759 yards and eight scores (he also had 11-91, one TD receiving). Five games into his sophomore season, however, he suffered a torn right ACL against Tennessee and missed the rest of the year (56-246, one TD rushing; 8-111, one TD receiving). He attempted to come back for 2014, but could only play three games (12-24 rushing) because his knee did not heal properly. Ironically, an injury to his teammate, Nick Chubb, made it possible for Marshall to get 68 carries (for 350 yards and three scores) in his final year with the Bulldogs. Instead of petitioning the NCAA for another year of eligibility due to two lost seasons, Marshall decided to move on and try to make his way in the NFL. Spaceman Spiff
This dude is FAST. Not sure about his vision or other intangibles but this guy will take it to the house if he gets into the open field. Also looks like he can catch a little bit too. Says he doesn't look as fast as he did before his 2013 ACL tear but he still ran a 4.31 40.
Fred Jones
From the article and the film, appears guy can catch the ball out of the backfield. If this guy has good vision, how did he drop to the 7th round?

Renegade7
Injury concerns. C'mon, man. He's a 7th round pick. If it didn't heal right, that sounds like their training staff in Georgia is a joke, not the same at pro level. Dude is going to be a man-crush magnet, watch. posse87
He was more highly rated than Gurley coming out of HS. He is in a place where his confidence is catching up with his repaired knee. This is a better pick than Marcus Latimore with him being able to compete for the 3rd RB position. I don't see why he wouldn't win it with Redd coming off injury and having a pending suspension. This was a good read about Marshall. Gurley is a fan and that says something right there....could be a legitimate late round Gem. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25496526/watch-uga-rb-who-runs-crazy-40-times-almost-breaks-combine-record

Bacon
Here's hoping he's the next Darren Sproles I made this exact comment in the draft thread and got justifiably roasted. He's the ideal size for a three down back but has an insane 40. Sproles is tiny, which limits his opportunities somewhat. Marshall could be more than just a home run threat. I dont think it didnt heal right, I think it's a mental thing. I suspect he's been running tentatively lacking confidence in that knee. Which would explain why people think he's lost a step from the tape, but he gets out at the combine and kills it cuz nobody's after him and bodies arent all around his legs. It's likely both, as the mention of it not healing right is right in the link by the OP.

ThomasRoane
I feel like we should have to spend a few nights in lock up for the theft that just occurred getting Marshall. I know! You and I, being coaches, can appreciate what must be going thru Gruden's mind. Oh the possibilities! Now, the one thing I want to know is does he have the "want-to" when it comes to pass pro. I don't care if he hasn't shown it yet. I just want to know if he has that kind of fight in him. I know he's strong enough based on his bench. If he can be good at pass pro, then Chris Thompson better not stub his toe. Cause he'll never get that 3rd down spot back.

ThomasRoane
< 10% success rate for many 7th rounders. Hope he breaks those odds Pass pro is the key. There's no doubt that he can flat out run and has good hands. If he's not smart enough and tough enough in pass pro then he'll be another Lache Seastrunk. PCS
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1984182/keith-marshall PLAYER OVERVIEW Concluding a promising career marred by injuries, Marshall was the highest-rated recruit in Georgia's 2012 class that also included Todd Gurley, Leonard Floyd and several other blue-chippers. Along with Gurley, he was half of the dynamic "Gurshall" backfield in 2012 and looked like a future high draft pick until his ACL injury in 2013, which "changed everything," according to Marshall. He accepted his role as the third-string running back and special teams player in 2015, earning praise from his coaches for his team-first mentality. Marshall saw action in 11 games in 2015 and finished third on the team in rushing with 350 yards and three touchdowns. STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES STRENGTHS: Desired size and build for the position. Elite straight-line speed with a home run gear. Plant-and-go burst that front-seven defenders can't handle, punching the accelerator with ease. Sudden footwork to slip contact, avoiding the first wave. Runs with forward lean and drives his feet. Backfield patience to allow blocks to develop. Banged up in college, but toughness isn't a question. Keeps busy as a blocker, quickly locating and picking up rushers in pass protection. Secures the ball and trustworthy toting the rock. Natural receiving traits. Very intelligent both on the field and in the classroom. Georgia coaches highly complementary of his work ethic and team-first attitude. *click link for more*
