Johns Bass
Pretty much the same as last week. Rinse and repeat...always repeat... Maybe add to the list to get TDs instead of settling for FGs. They don't win this game with FGs.
goskins10
SO here are my 5 keys - I doubt they are any mystery to anyone: 1. Run the ball and then run the ball some more! As we have mentioned their run D is 5th, but that is likely due to teams being behind early and having to throw a lot. Let's see how they do against a true power running team. 2. We have to win the TO battle! We just cannot give them short fields. And we some cheap points. It would be a good time to get our first couple of picks, maybe even a pick 6 or so? 3. We have to stop their run early. One of the reasons matty ice is doing so well is they have a great run game. 4. Reduce the penalties! Especially the ones on Off! I can deal with the Def penalties. The league average is 8 penalties per team per game! So they are going to get called. But we can't have those drive stalling penalties. 5. WE have to play 4 quarters! Our typical 3rd Q nose dive will not get it. We have to play all 4 Qs like it's the last minute of football we will ever play! If I am being honest I don't like our chances. We either keep it close but in the end they are too much, or we get blown out like Houston. This is a big test for Cousins. His detractors (and many others) are still waiting for him to put 2 gms together. If not, it's not the end of the world as Atlanta is a very talented team. But at some point he has to show he can play through adversity and not just the good times. Last week was certainly a great start, but we need that intensity every week. Johns Bass
Cousins is one of the least sacked QBs (5) in the league and he is in the top 10 of attempts while being sacked just once in each of the last two games. I don't like it that they throw so much but he is getting adequate protection/getting rid of the rock quickly. In each of the last two games he has attempted almost as many as he did in the first two combined. He tossed up 2 int's over the first two and two more over the last two - but that's with twice the attempts. For sure they are baby steps but they are baby steps in the right direction at least. Like Go sayz - let's see some stability and continued positive growth here.
hailmary
We must win in both trenches today to stand a chance, have to stop Atlanta's run game and put pressure on Matty Ice all day long. He will throw a pick if we get to him early and often! On O we must use the 3 headed monsters and run the ball for all 4 Quarters no matter what the score is and most importantly we can't have drive killing penalties. I think this could be a really good game if we can play a physical game something i am not sure Atlanta can match especially in the trenches, we need to own the line of scrimmage today on both sides of ball and pull off the UPSET....! HTTR!!
