NickyJ
Kearse has GOT to be in the running for some sort of record.
TSO
This is new from us, though, isn't it? I don't remember ever cutting the last guy on the roster and then bringing him back over and over and over like this in the past. I like it in its simplicity, lol. He's the 53rd guy. It is what it is. We probably were out-thinking ourselves on this in the past. Or I'm just full of **** here. I honestly am not sure why I even made this post. NickyJ
Can't say that I remember it happening before either. There were the occasional times that we'd bring someone back around midseason that was last here during final preseason cuts because we've been hit by injuries, but for the same guy to be turned into a weekly ritual is unusual, even as the Redskins. ANONYMOUS SOURCE.
If I were Kearse I'd have told them to go pound sand by now, Write off this season and try again somewhere else next year lol.
NickyJ
Question because I don't know much about how NFL contracts work: How does this affect the contracts he signs each time? Does he get payment for the number of games he plays, or the number of weeks on the roster?

And turn down NFL game checks? He's in no position to do that. Unless there's a better offer out there. Even his nfl minimum is rather good in the grand scheme of things. Fred Jones
Plus, odds on he will be back on the roster before the end of the season, and history shows will be soon. Since other teams have had plenty of opportunaties to pick him up, I think he would be happy to keep getting opportunities to keep his NFL career alive. Voice_of_Reason
His base is $582,000. Probably a little better than he can make in some temp hourly position. Yeah, if I'm not entirely sure, but I think that each game is worth ~$36,000. Unless there's something else out there, there's no chance you give that up just because you're frustrated with being moved up and down. Sucks for him, but even if he's active for 4 games, that's $130k, that's probably better than he can do elsewhere. Question because I don't know much about how NFL contracts work: How does this affect the contracts he signs each time? Does he get payment for the number of games he plays, or the number of weeks on the roster? I'm pretty sure, though not entirely sure, that he gets a pro-rated amount of the NFL minimum (assuming that he's signing an NFL minimum contract.) He's not a vested veteran, so it's the lowest of the minimum contracts. And I believe that contracts are paid out as game checks, so I'm guessing that he would get 1/16 of the minimum per game that he's on the active roster. I am not sure how this stuff effects the Cap, however. That takes some serious quantum physics to figure out. (Ok, maybe not so much, but I don't know what the rules are there. I'm guessing since nothing is guaranteed that only the base salary amount counts against the cap, and when he's cut, that amount comes off the cap, and goes to the player that they sign to replace him.)
