justice98
That tape is repugnant. The off the field issues are significant. Not a fan of even kicking the tires on this.

Agreed, he looks like possessed by 666. Wondering why Scot is bringing him in ?
Jacoby6644
Wondering why Scot is bringing him in ? Just thinking the same thing. Doesn't seem to be a Fit with what we are trying to do here in terms of building a high character roster. Maybe a favor to his agent to help build interest...? Raise the the contract offer dollars...?

Maybe a favor to his agent to help build interest...? Raise the the contract offer dollars...? Scot will take the risk on certain "bad character" types, though I am surprised we're considering it so early into his tenure. He might feel better about the locker room and leadership here than anybody could have guessed, or he's just doing his due diligence and updating his files on Gilette. But something else to keep in mind is that between him and Gruden, they both have spent time in organizations that give second and even third chances to character risks, with great success. Audible_Red40
Kick the tires, sure. Over pay for this guy, no way. Personally I don't want this guy on the team or in the locker room. As much as he might make the team better on the field, it's not worth the risk and money. This does not even fill a need. This would be a typical old Redskin move. Aireskoi
I don't know if this is the guy to take a shot on or not, I really have a problem with "men" that "allegedly" hit women. The idea that a strong locker-room can absorb a bad apple or two is interesting to me. On one hand I say no way, but on the other hand it could be beneficial to everyone if it worked out. It's always great to hear a story of someone getting in a new/better environment and changing their lives. It's hard for that to happen without some level of acceptance from a new environment. It seems like the league, or a team, needs to get this guys attention before someone gets hurt. He's from Haiti, so we have a couple of high character guys on this team that could probably relate to him right away with Ricky Jean and Pierre. Do we need another pass rusher? Yeah, we do. This guy has played in a 4-3 and 3-4 and stayed on the field for all of Rob Ryan's multiple formations. He can play. Does he fit with Barry's scheme? He should or he wouldn't be talking to Scot. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1858884-what-makes-rob-ryans-saints-defense-so-dangerous I would think we can structure a deal to protect the organization against off the field issues. I would definitely put language in any contract that he needs to attend an anger management program of some sort.
Aireskoi
He's quite a player, with off field issues and a torn rotator cuff. Will he be worth the trouble even at a bargain price ? It's actually a pec that does not require surgery. He's looking at pup to start the season from what I read. "New Orleans waited until Monday to release Galette because he had to first pass a physical after tearing a pectoral muscle early this offseason." RonArtest15
If he can help, then why not? Obviously there is a TON of baggage, but like someone else pointed out, maybe having other Haitians on the roster like Garcon and RJF might help keep him in line. We need talent on this roster. Galette can play. You absolutely will not find choirboys on NFL rosters. I trust Scot 100%. If he thinks it can work out, then sign him to a reasonable deal and see what happens. Low risk, HIGH reward, IMO.
SkinsGuy
I'm not sure about this guy, but GM Scott has done a great job this offseason. So I will trust him to make the right decision for the Redskins.
TheMalcolmConnection
Let the Cowboys have him. They don't give two craps about character. He and Greg Hardy can have story time together.

You know... as much as I don't like the Cowboys... I'm not sure the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders deserve that.
Darrel2828
He's a good football player and we could use his skill, but this is a Cowboy move. If we sign this ass we're no better than them. Would rather the Skins not this guy.
TheMalcolmConnection
HA. Just don't know how the Cowboys get by year-after-year making questionable character signings without getting called out for it. It's just "Dallas being Dallas".
Burgold
I think the biggest reason not to do this (other than the obvious one) is that we're not one player away. If you think this guy can reform and become a core guy then maybe you roll the dice, but otherwise... this is not a good foundation stone for the team you are trying to build that will start to really be a contender 2, 3 years down the road. I agree this is more like a good player for cheap move. The guy just got done throwing teammates inder the bus and he hit a women. The Skins don't need this guy. He's a jerk and rumored to be a locker room cancer.

Most likely, if they sign him, it will be a one or two year deal that the Redskins can easily get out of with no cap ramifications if the guy starts acting like an idiot. They won't take but so much risk on him.

Football wise, he only cares about sacks and gives up immediately on running plays. Division rivals figured that out and constantly run the ball at him. If you think Orakpo was one dimensional, wait til you see Galette play.
dan757
I dont like guys that beat women anymore than the next man but for so many years we have signed nice guys and got mediocre to poor teams. Like Coach said we'd love to have a locker room full of Ryan Kerrigans, but thats easier said than done. I for one would not mind that kind of rage directed at Tono romo and other opposing QB's. Would I let him watch my kids? heck no; would I suit him up and unleash him on Sam Bradford...

Rocky21
porculator's post scares me cause it seems like he's seen him play. I like the production but do we need the potential headache? Still trusting in Scotty Mac's acumen at this point.
