REDSKINS SIGN RB MACK BROWN

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed free agent running back Mack Brown. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Brown (5-11, 214) originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Houston Texans on May 11, 2015. He was waived by the Texans on June 2.

Brown appeared in 49 career games at Florida across the 2010-14 seasons, gaining 805 career yards on 210 rushing attempts with four rushing touchdowns. Last season, he appeared in all 12 games for Florida and served as a key member of the Gators’ special teams unit.

Brown, 23, attended Martin Luther King Jr. H.S. in Lithonia, Ga., where he rushed for more than 1,700 combined yards with 20 touchdowns across his junior and senior seasons. He was born on Sept. 24, 1991.

I was kind of hoping when they opened up that last roster spot that maybe a veteran free agent might be coming in to camp to push for a spot. I know that he was a complete bust in Tampa Bay last year but for some reason I wouldn't mind seeing Anthony Collins brought in for training camp on a one year deal to see if he could get back to playing like he did for the Bengals every contract year. Even as a reserve. Gruden has never let it be known that he has ever had any interest in him though, and he should know him well, so maybe he doesn't think much of him. Not a big deal though, just the last roster spot and maybe the GM see's something in Mack Brown.
