LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have made the following roster moves:

The Redskins re-signed the following player:

T Tom Compton

The Redskins released the following players:

DE Stephen Bowen

DL Barry Cofield, Jr.

Right on queue, I knew Bowen would be next to go.

Happy to see Bowen gone, disappointed that Chester has yet to join him, and I would have liked to see Cofield for one more year. In letting Cofield go, I have to believe that the brass will look to defense with #5. Regardless as to whether it is Beasley, Shelton, Waynes or Williams, there will be a strong return.

If Pierre Garcon is bounced, I will retract the previous.

Think that our guard depth is to low for that. Lets say we cut him now, then we need to get a replacement. Unless you go all in for Long.

When you 'need' something the rest of the league will know. Agents will drive up the price and you might have played your hand for the draft.

Every GM knows how poorly Chester played -there's no shellgame here. Insurance in case things do not work out? I can buy that to an extent, but he in no way can be on the roster as a starter at his salary.
