Who are legitimate options to replace Haslett as DC?

I'm praying for Rex Ryan but Wade Phillips would be an improvement.  Who else out there has a real shot at getting hired by us if we can Haslett?

I also would love for London Fletcher to join the staff to help Brian Baker out with the LBs.

Rahim Morris I'm still unsure about as a DB coach.  While he has had a couple good years with players like Breeland and Amerson (2013), we have seen other DBs regress (Wison 2013, Amerson 2014)

Is it possible given our rank statistically against the pass and run that Snyder will give Haslett ANOTHER chance?  I'm so scared Snyder will see it that way and go with Has one more time.  I wish we had gotten blown away in all our losses to make this decision an eas(ier) one...

I think this is a case where we should go with a defensive coach with a proven track record.  Wade Phillips is my choice.  He's already around the team some because his son is the TE coach.  He has the proven track record.  I think he's actually written books about the 3-4 defense.

Fire Allen. Or move him FAR away from football matters.

Hire a proven, proper football GM with NO allegiance to this organisation.

Let said new GM decided whether to keep or (please God) can Gruden's incompetent ass.

Then, and ONLY then, can the HC our new man has gone with set about forming his staff.

ANYTHING else is a fruitless exercise if ti involves changing under the present structure when chances are all that structure will be out on their behinds 12 months down the line.

Hail.

If any change happens, which I'm starting to doubt it will, it will come from within the current staff we have. Who's in charge of the worst unit we put on the field each week? Morris... the secondary, It will be Raheem Morris.

Just the way this clown show organization operates.

Why do fans always get their hopes up for potential coaches to come here? There's no f**king way Rex Ryan would want to come here

In this thread we are talking about potential defensive coordinators. That is the position Rex will likely go to next, and if we offer him the job and the money is good enough, he'd probably take it

If you look at the list of coaches Dan has lured here, it's pretty impressive. Both HCs and coordinators

- Ray Rhodes: when he took the DC job, it was quite a coup.

- Marty

- Spurrier

- Marvin Lewis (left a SB caliber team and Ray Lewis)

- Gibbs

- Gregg Williams

- Al Saunders (he was a hot commodity)

- Shanahan

Lots of good or hot coaches have come here over the last 15 years.

Keim among others doesn't think he'd step down to a coordinator role FWIW.

Here or anywhere.

Hail.

He might, but most likely he'll take a job doing TV and make more money.

But Dan can be very persuasive.

I'm really hoping for Rex but I doubt we will be that lucky.

forget Rex. He only wants a HC job.

Wade Philips would remake us into a Top 10 D given some FA and draft help. He's the Norv Turner of Defense. Great coordinator, lousy head coach.

Plus his son is our TE coach.

I would love to get Wade but how old is he now?

I really wouldn't be surprised if we brought in someone to run the Tampa Cover 2.  That's what they ran in Tampa, so if they were to go with someone they have worked with in the past it could come from that coaching family tree.

I would be OK if they went with Kirby Smart, Rex Ryan, Wade Phillips, or Mike Smith, but I still think they could go Tampa 2 somehow.

Bruce says,,,,,it gives me great pleasure to introduce the newest member of our Coaching team, Raheem Morris as the DC....Back to glory.

I didn't want to say Morris, but I could sure see that move.  Then we could all say Haslett was handcuffing Morris and not letting him tell the deepest man to be the deepest man.  Maybe Raheem was telling them to get the **** back and Haz said no don't do it, double cover the underneath and let every TE run free.

The story will be Haz was telling them not to listen to Morris...I hope they can do better than that, but it's just hope.
