Operation Starve Snyder

The entire organization is rotten to the core. We all see the product on the field, but some of us truly do not recognize how bad it is. From front office and coaching incompetence to a terrible game day experience to poor player treatment/development, it's time we starve Snyder.

London Fletcher, one of the most respected figures in Redskins history has posted a Facebook message detailing some of the issues from within. This environment cannot be changed as long as Dan Snyder is still running the show. For better or worse, this franchise has its DNA entwined with Snyder and that will not be changed until there is a clean slate. The Wizards and Nationals would not be where they are if Abe Pollin and the MLB still ran the show. If we want to win a Super Bowl, or hell just be respectable, there is only one choice: Snyder must sell.

How do we accomplish this? A few ways.

1) Do not buy or renew season tickets. Seriously. This team does not deserve your hard earned money.

2) Do not attend games even if you get tickets for free (concessions, parking, etc. all add to his bottom line).

3) Stop buying Redskins merchandise.

4) Call/email every sponsor of the Redskins and let them know that you'll no longer be using their product/service because of said sponsorship.

5) Tell every Redskins fan you know via social media and word of mouth to follow your lead and stop supporting Snyder.

Yes, I understand there is a revenue sharing model in the NFL and even with an empty stadium the team could still be profitable with merchandise and TV contracts. But how long can it last?

Snyder only responds to one thing: money. Let's send a message that doesn't mince words. We will not stand for him to own this franchise any longer. We will not stand for this once proud franchise to continue on this path any longer. It starts now.

This team becomes more of a joke every year and yet it's value keeps climbing exponentially. I doubt Snyder is worried unfortunately.

Team value and revenue are two very different things when running a business.  Even if you value the team at 100 Billion, it's on paper.  You need to sell tickets, merchandise, advertising, food, concessions to make money (outside of revenue sharing and tv monies.

Or wait until the off-season, get excited about some new players that get added, and the new season with a 0-0 record.

Preseason will draw in the most stubborn fans, and opening day is an American Holiday.

What team will you be rooting for next year then?

This will never work.

.

Good point. I'd be interested in seeing how much if any the revenue has fallen in recent years. It probably peaked just 2 years ago with the RG3 mania.

I would gladly give up the name to get rid of Snyder.

How are the Jags operated? It can't possibly be worse than us.

then you're not a Redskins fan

as for how the Jags are run, they're pretty consistently worse than us and people act like they usually only have one or two players worth anything

They have gotten new ownership recently

Have a young GM, a solid young coach and also have invested heavily into the scouting staff and analytics

The results on the field won't be there for another year or 2 but t hey are doing things the right way now

Absolutely, they are building the right way and the fans don't expect immediate results from a talent poor team. It might take awhile but they are going about it the right way. No big fa, no trading draft picks, going bpa when they can.

I'm not calling sponsors and organizing a boycott but I stopped giving Snyder money a while ago. My Redskins gear is showing it's age but I'm not getting a single new scrap and I haven't attended a game in a few seasons.

Until this team wins consistently, I've spent my last dollar on the Redskins. There is nothing else as a fan that I can do to show my displeasure short of not being a fan anymore and that choice isn't up to me. Heart wants what it wants.

This is a big yaaaawn for me. We've done this like five times now. Stadium was empty at the end of 2003 season. There was an all out fan revolt at the end of Zorn again with a half empty stadium. The crowd at the KC game was laughable. Same with the Bucs and the Steinberg piece this year.

The NFL shares revenue on all merch and pretty much everything else. Snyder is gonna get paid regardless. It's how a notoriously cheap ownership family like the Browns or Bidwells managed to survive.

I don't begrudge or judge any fan who refuses to renew, attend, or purchase stuff. Totally within their rights and makes no sense to support something that brings you no joy or satisfaction. On the other hand, there are a lot of people who get much from the experience outside of the game results. Take the ES tailgate for example (and the many other smaller traditions throughout the fanbase). To ask them to stop would be asking a lot; and I won't do that.

I don't want to stop following the team...not yet at least. Snyder is clueless, clearly. But I don't think he knows how to fix it--I think he keeps trying and failing. I don't think me refusing to buy a jersey is going to make anything click magically inside of him. It would be so much easier if he was just cheap. Maybe public pressure could persuade him to invest more heavily in the team. But that obviously isn't our problem here. Much deeper than that.

Some people act as if Snyder KNOWS what to do but just refuses to do it. I don't think he does. And I don't think he believes the fans are enjoying this. He might surround himself with yes men, but he isn't blind.

The fans really don't have the ability to hurt him financially--at least not in a meaningful way. Public humiliation is about all you can hope for---and if he isn't humiliated by now....

Just like the American flag turned upside down. It's a call for help. It's not disrespect in anyway. Let's turn our redskins stickers and emblems upside down as a call for help. It's a silent protest that WILL take notice. The general people will see it. Will wonder why. Eventually Snyder will see it too. As well as every member on the roster. It's baby steps to overthrowing a dictator. I've already started weeks ago. And it's been noticed and asked about at stop lights.
