Be Thankful

As I invite my ES family to my Thanksgiving table it should be noted that like Arthur's it is round.  There is no head and all are equidistant from the center.  The food is nourishing and sustaining though having a Redskin theme (appropriate for Thanksgiving) many of the dishes our sour or bitter and I wouldn't complain if visitors brought a few more sweets.  Today though, I remember be thankful for all my families and all the supports in my life and that includes you rabble (as well as the rabble that used to dwell here).

Happy Thanksgiving.  May your harvest be rich and tidings glad. HTTR and Hail to You as well.  I've got my health, hope, family, good friends, and the things that I am missing... well, it's good to strive.  When you come in grab a plate and bring something unique from your own traditions.

Kick off your shoes, watch some football, and eat.  Oh yeah, and let us know one thing you are grateful for and one dish Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without.

For me, Thanksgiving doesn't have to have a turkey (though it should), but it must have Mom's sweet potato casserole with pineapple and marshmallows.

I hear you, Ix.  I could dwell on a number of injustices both personal and worldwide... like I am beginning to feel the pinch of joblessness, but  still have enough money, enough friends, enough family, and enough good in my own life that I choose to count blessings instead of curses.  Hope your load lightens soon.

Happy Thanksgiving my fellow Redskins fans :) I'm thankful that I'm a skins fan, as hard as it can be at times. I'm thankful to be home from college for break and to see my family (well... most of my family...sister is sadly in Cali this year).

Today is a day to watch the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade, watch football all day, eat turkey in-between, eat pie and ice cream during the night game and fall asleep watching "A Christmas Story" after too many beers, pie, turkey, stuffing, sweet potato, gravy, ETC. I mean...I've heard from other families that that's what they do.... ;)

If any of you shop today, then you are doing thanksgiving the wrong way. 100%. The right way to do thanksgiving is what I just said above. Do it!

HAIL :)

I'm thankful for my Redskins (come whatever may), and for ES....for all the blessings I've been given~jeez, I take care of dogs all day!  No more waiting on humans who can be rude & severely intellectually challenged...but I pray for blessings for them too.

For Coach K and everything Duke...BLUE DEVILS FOREVER!

And my table would never be complete without my mom's broccoli casserole.  (I've adjusted a few things over the years, but would never tell her, LOL)

There's also her layered salad that I get begged to make for every family-in-law occasion...thank heavens I can buy most of the ingredients already chopped/shredded, because it could take all day way back when.

I know I haven't been here long, compared to most other members.  But I couldn't love you all more, even those who have given me a shout-down in the tailgate.   We're the most miserable group of loving folks I've ever seen or read.

From our house to all of yours, Happy Thanksgiving!  Hoping we all have a great holiday season, football Gods notwithstanding.

Hail!

Happy Thanksgiving, youse guys & gals.

My hats off to you loyal tailgaters....the regs who keep the fires burning. You folks are soldiers.

The stadium will once again be elevating its white noise level (all the stupid) as we go through another round of "The Magic Of Dan Snyder's Ownership."

Eyebrows should raise over my saying it's bad enough that today I am grateful I can seek refuge in the comparative wisdom and camaraderie of the tailgate threads. :P

Go gobble a turkey.  :)

The only true wisdom is in knowing that you know nothing. You should be humbled to be in the presence of such savants.

I am extraordinarily fortunate in life and should be very thankful. Let's just leave it at that. :D

3 PM EST...I am going to grub like a buzzard.

I can't wait.

Thanks to all of you and my family for keeping me sane and grounded. Life is short. I try to enjoy every moment of it.

The folks that try to put a damper on that aspect of my life get pushed to the side. I only want to have my happy moments and people in my circle.

I endure the sad ones, I cry at the painful ones, but at the end of the day I appreciate and respect all that we all go through...just to be happy.

It's really not hard to find things to be thankful for. Turn on the news, and look at all the craziness and hardship in this world. Be a positive and accepting person. Make sure your loved ones know how important they are to you, as much as you can. Life is too short to not foster the most important relationships you will ever have. Make the most of them.

Be safe, and eat like kings today!

EDIT: I started to like all the posts in this thread but I can see that might take weeks. I like em all.

Happy thanksgiving folks!

I'm thankful for 261 days sober and my loving wife and parents supporting me. I'm also thankful for Alfred Morris.

Travel safely, eat well guys. If only both dallas and philly could lose today!

261 days Chewpocalypse? Damn man...I remember your Blops2 days. Yeah.

Incredible amount of time there. I can stay dry for a couple months at a time, but always go back. Inspirational my man.

4 o'clock post time for my fam. Mom is a serious cook so.....this is always a good holiday. She makes everything on the Thanksgiving dinner spectrum, and every year since I was a teenager she's made me my own spinach pie. There's a pie to pick at for everybody, and my own sitting in the oven on low heat.

Happy Thanksgiving tailgate. Special tight-knit community on here. Classic discussions every day.

I'm thankful for a healthy son, that my old dogs keep on keepin' on, that the O's lasted longer than the Nationals in the playoffs ;) and I'm really most thankful for the love of a great woman.

Oh yeah, I'm also thankful the Redskins are NOT playing today.

Love this site.

I'm thankful for my 1 year old baby girl that reminded me what it is to play again. I didn't realize that I'd forgotten. My life changed the day she arrived and the way I see the world will never be the same.

I'm also thankful for the parents God gave me, as always. My parents sacrificed everything to bring us to this country. They went to a country where they knew no one and couldn't speak the language only to work too hard for too many hours. They actually felt guilty for not being able to spend more time with us, as if we couldn't see that they were sacrificing for us. That can't be repaid but I think they like hearing that we know and we are thankful.

I'd be more thankful for my wife is she wasn't telling me to get off my phone right now , as I type this, because the trash needs to be taken out. Sometimes the cliche is reality eh? She's the only person in the world that can give me **** and receive a smile in return.

Happy thanksgiving.
