gatito
After the last 2 weeks do you start RGIII in week 13? Prior to week 11 and 12 I believed that you had to play RGIII for the rest of the year to see what we had but after the last 2 weeks I think we have seen enough. Thoughts? SteveFromYellowstone
Absolutely not. We got 100 yards passing out of our #2 overall "franchise" qb. If Rex Grossman plays that game we win. Thats how bad it is.
BatteredFanSyndrome
Best chance to get a high draft pick is start Griffin.

Califan007 The Constipated
Man, I have no idea lol...he looked broken out there, this week and last. Probably owe it to the rest of the team to bench him from here on out, let him reboot next offseason and have an open competition.
LetThePointsSoar
I hope not. But I think the odds of Robert being benched before next week are equal to the odds of this thread staying open.
zCommander
Yes you play him to the end. What is the purpose of playing anyone else? Are you trying to get into the playoffs??? Please think logically and not emotionally.
Burgold
Yeah, I do, but I also coach more aggressively. Letting the time wind down in the second half and some of those runs were counterproductive. Gruden needs to go for the kill and who cares if it doesn't work. Force RGIII to play. I want him winging it like a drunk Brett Farve. I want him throwing on timing routes a lot. 1, 2, 3, let it rip. Force the receivers to be in the right spot and be open. No more awaiting the open guy.
respectgibbs
Yes, play him and see if he can right his ship. Season's lost anyways.
Destino
Absolutely. Unless you think Kirk Cousins can be the guy. Colt doesn't have the arm strength but he can be a manager. Problem is a a manger gets us a worse draft pick and solves nothing long term.
Springfield
Yes. He's still the best QB on the team. Plus, it's not like we are going to the playoffs anyway. Let the guy get some reps. He will need the practice for the two new high draft pick rookie linemen next season.

pop0422
im through with the rg3 show, I just wish he could show some progression. Id probably not start him..but what does it really matter? its not like we're going to the playoffs. We're trash juice....
Ghost of
Man, I have no idea lol...he looked broken out there, this week and last. Probably owe it to the rest of the team to bench him from here on out, let him reboot next offseason and have an open competition. Yeah it's almost like Shanahan's benching made sense (in terms of him looking broken near the end.) Griffin went from someone who could operate from the pocket, if inconsistently to someone who can't do anything, trusts nothing he sees and refuses to make plays that are available because of fear or some sort of haze which has descended upon him. What happened to the guy from Philadelphia (gimped leg) 2012? He has no confidence at all. He looks worse than Patrick Ramsey ever looked. And I mean ever. I wonder if there is something to taking a pounding and losing the confidence of your coaches that kills a QBs confidence. SOmetimes looking at his play, it's like actual confidence would speed up a throw, make some plays (and some mistakes.) Although I think he played well enough vs. Minnesota, he has looked beyond repair and I think they need to reboot this offseason and see what happens. Looking back, I would have understood playing Colt. There's a chance we could have made the playoffs or finished with a winning record or .500 had we done that. SkinsHokieFan
You have to let this play out this year. At best the light goes on and he goes into the offseason confident At worst the team is 3-13 again with a top 4 pick in the draft.

Problem is a a manger gets us a worse draft pick and solves nothing long term. I don't think its a question of who can be the guy; its more of who we think ISN'T the guy. Right now Griffin isn't, and he needs some long term work with a QB coach without dealing with practices, etc, to see if they can get him fixed or not. Warhead36
I don't think it matters either way. The season is lost. Maybe McCoy gets you another win or two, but ok we finish 5-11 instead of 3-13, who cares? I'd rather just let RG3 play out the string and hope that he miraculously figures it out. There is no long term answer with McCoy. I was a Cousins fan but he looks like he's another Rex Grossman with his propensity to throw picks so I doubt we return to that well. Hunter_R
Absolutely, yes. Unless Gruden is going to anoint one of the other 2 the qb of the future and focus on them, which I don't see happening. The season is long gone, so give Griffin all the rope in the world. BRAVEONTHEWARPATH93
As a pissed off fan, I'd keep him in so we can be assured a 3-13 record and a higher draft pick As a rational fan, you put in KC or Colt. Gruden seems to like Colt

Morrison J
Play him till the end of the year. It makes the most sense. If he bombs and we lose every game we'll have a top 3 pick and can take Winston. If he gets it together and we get a few wins then we've hope he can do it for us next year. Benching him for Colt McCoy is pointless. 0% chance Colt McCoy is our starter for the foreseeable.
No Excuses
I would give Kirk another shot. Sure he sucked down the stretch but this offense has looked good under him. His biggest problem is turnovers which honestly can be fixed. He's not gun shy. RG3 is done in the NFL. He simply does not have a feel for the speed of NFL level passing. He's not going to get better and he's not going to do **** for another team. He now looks exactly like Ramsey and Jason Campbell did. When he throws, its for checkdowns. Otherwise he's taking a sack or running around like an idiot.
