MustangSteve
Griffin also spoke confidently about still being Washington's "franchise guy." "I believe that I am. I believe that this organization knows that I am," he said. "Those guys in the locker room believe that I am. There's no doubt there. I don't ever step on the field trying to make a claim saying I'm the guy. It's not like that. This is my team, and I'm gonna lead it." Click link for story http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000422817/article/redskins-rgiii-this-is-my-team-and-im-gonna-lead-it This is how Robert and every starting QB in this league must feel. Go lead this team to the best you can Robert Griffin, God bless you. Sportsyahoo.com: RG3 throws Redskins teammates under bus after his own bad game RG3 then said the Redskins "can’t throw knives and stab each other in the back." Right before he threw knives at his teammates and stabbed them in the back (about the 2:09 mark of the video above). Click link for story http://sports.yahoo....-032315004.html Yes there is a pro bowler on your team RG3, that speedy receiver that you couldn't seem to hit for a TD 2 times yesterday. D-Jax is a damn good player and the most dangerous deep threat in the NFL period!

Bigmuss1
Look, I'm a big RG3 fan, I was captivated like everyone else here in 2012. But, it is time to put up, he's healthy and it's time to let loose. No more developing, no more woulda shoulda's. He needs to play fast, smart and fun. He does that, the Redskins will be fine, if there is anymore second guessing non confident football, the Avalanche will continue. I really don't even care that much about mistakes, every QB makes them, I care about confident football plays and throws.

Catatonic
I wish EVERY player on the team would STFU and just play football. That would cure half of the problems right there.
TD Riggo
I could have sworn this was already being discussed at length in another thread... Yeah. Except that thread has now devolved, just like they all eventually do, into another 47-page "I know you are, but what am I" crapfest.
lupin_iv
STFU and just play football. Better: I wish EVERY player on the team would be more team oriented. That would cure half of the problems right there. Telling players to "STFU" is reductive nonsense. They are asked questions all the time, and are going to answer them whether fans like it or not. I have no problem with what Robert said here, even if to some people it appears "unearned" and "arrogant". The fact of the matter is, the question would not have been asked if it wasn't in question to begin with. If it makes you feel better, replace "I believe I am" with "I believe I will be". GoldSkinner
In the words of Tywin Lannister: "Any man who must say, 'I am the king' is no true king." Same rule applies to QBs who claim to be their team's leader. Don't say it; just show it.
skinpride1
Enough talk Rg3! !!!!!! Im sick of it..your not at Baylor anymore. .matter of fact ..you really haven't looked like an Nfl q.b. at all...until you start looking like one keep the big talk to yourself. .and yes.. I expect you to play good enough to beat the poor Bucs..but a real team nope...be a leader by learning to step up in the pocket and stop holding on to the ball too long. Boss_Hogg
I love you Rob, and I appreciate what you did for us in 2012 by winning the NFC East crown, but please.. SHUT THE **** UP AND PLAY BALL Actions speak louder than words
MattFancy
Seriously you fans in here are so fickle. One week you want RG3 to step up and lead this team, the next you want him to STFU. I've never seen one player in any sport create so much craziness between fans before.
BRAVEONTHEWARPATH93
How exactly is an pro athlete supposed to STFU in 2014 when he's interviewed 2999494 times a week? He gave a generic "rah rah" football answer. Let him live

GoldSkinner
The fans are up there in my mind as the most embarrassing part of today's Redskins franchise. What's wrong with the fans? nemocystem
it's called tired of losing and calling out what's wrong with the team...Right...cause you comment so indiscriminately & are just as vocal about Haslett, our Safeties, our lack of ability to generate pressure without needing to blitz incessantly, or our glorious OL complete with a competent pass blocking RT, & 2 wonderfully adept OG's at pretty much every necessary skill.I mean...i could see your point...were it not laced with blatant disregard for the other 6 or 7 things wrong with this team. But go ahead...tell me how Robert is THE problem, & focusing singularly on his defects are what's going to ultimately turn this franchise around. Don't worry, i'll wait. The Caretaker
Every time someone deduces that he needs to "shut up and play" a baby deer breaks a leg. THEY GET ASKED QUESTIONS ALL THE TIME, THEY ARE REQUIRED TO GIVE INTERVIEWS. Enough with that bull**** response, it is the most infuriating thing about Griffin detractors. StephenDavis
The fans are up there in my mind as the most embarrassing part of today's Redskins franchise. How??? The way I see it if he's not performing then fans have a right to show their disappointment. If RGIII starts balling out or at least improving then there will be praise. No big deal every fan base does the same thing.
