manchild157
Last place in our division but things are on an upswing with a 2 game win streak. Will Griffin show up as the guy who has been on the sidelines taking notes with a headset on or is he the guy on the sidelines doodling and got music on his headset. 603skinsfan
I think the most important thing is to not underestimate our competition. They are 3-5. We are 3-5. That makes us no better than them. One game at a time. Haslett Remember the Vikings are not the Cowboys. Plan accordingly. RGIII You do not have to win the game all you have to do is manage the game. Please reference Colt McCoy vs. Cowboys for any questions or tips you might have. Breeland and Amerson play like you did last week. I have no complaints. Meriweather if you could even come close to duplicating what you did against the Cowboys I will be happy(I think I will be sad). Defense has to play lights out again. We got this boys! Go Skins! CTskin
603- dead on man, we are no better... We're far from a favorite going in this one, especially with RG, a question mark at QB going up against a very good pass D in their house. The key to this game is simple- run a lot. Their rush D is bad and it will hopefully open up the passing lanes for RG. Good old fashioned hard nosed football will get us the W. Haslett needs to continue to be aggressive, as Bridgewater is one of the worst rated QBs when facing the blitz.
Canadianfanforlife
HAIL CTSKIN! You said..."The key to this game is simple- run a lot." You also said..."Good old fashioned hard nosed football will get us the W." Truer words have never been spoken. Unfortunately for you & I, along with the rest of Redskins Nation, is that Gruden doesn't like to run. We were once a running powerhouse but since Gruden took over we've dropped from being a top 5 running team to 16th in the league in total rushing yards (819) & 19th in the league in yards/game (102). Our boy Alfred has yet to record a 100 yard rushing game & his TDs are way down. Like I said, I agree wholeheartedly with you, but If I were you I wouldn't hold my breath....you'll pass out. HTTR!!! P.S. We're all 'skins fans, why not have something Redskins as your avatar? Just a suggestion...
TheyAreBack
Purely my opinions: The key to winning any game is to take advantage of what they give you. Attempting to run when they stack the D line with 8 players is not going to get you a win, the same can be said about the pass when they are dropping extra players back. The Redskins have the talent at WR and RB to take advantage of anything they give us, they need to do just that. The team has been successful with McCoy by focusing on quick pass openers to many receivers and runs when the D starts to drop back to cover the pass. McCoy has run, but infrequently when he was pressured to get time or when the D didn't expect it. If RG3 chooses to run he needs to follow McCoy's pattern, as it will keep him from getting hurt again and the quick openers will open up other things. They also need to stay away from excessive long passes as they are more likely to be a drive killer than a TD.

One of the keys to any successful running game is being committed to it. You may not get much early in the game, but later as the their front starts to get tired you start breaking through and wearing them out. Also, a real running game can get yards against an 8 man front. That's when play action really works. I agree we need to take what we can get. Hopefully RGIII learned a lot watching both success and meltdown. As big a win that dallast was, it makes this game even more important. Going into the bye at 4-5 on a 3 gm winning streak with tampa on the other side. We could actually play our back into at least some kind of chance. The POs are still a long way off, and highly unlikely, but it would be nice to be at least in the conversation the last 4 weeks.
CTskin
Canadian- very fair point- avatar added. (I would like to make a new paragraph here, but I'm apparently not commenting thru xtremeskins, so that's not possible). Goskins- I made a very similar point on an espn article yesterday- we're no SB favorite, but playoffs aren't completely out of the question. This team can certainly be 5-5 with three divisional games left. It's nice to have some hope... but losing this game shuts the door on the season. One more reason why I think McCoy should start- if he plays poorly then RG can be brought in to try to save the day, but that situation doesn't work with roles reversed. I really I hope I eat crow on this one.

eradicator
Hail MC: "Will Griffin show up as the guy who has been on the sidelines taking notes with a headset on or is he the guy on the sidelines doodling and got music on his headset." You, I and every other Redskins fan is hoping for the former and if he does show up and playing AND thinking at Football Speed, we're all in for a great game. OK, I added the only avatar I've ever used but if you guys don't like her, I'll change it...she is wearing a Redskins button on her top, just above her right breast but you can't see it in the photo. I'm really looking forward to this game because A, it's not a dominating opponent. B, it gives our team a chance for a 3 game winning streak. C, All the pieces are in place on offense to give us the best chance of winning. D, our teams Defense has just come off a good game where the corners actually played pretty well which in my humble opinion, kept us in the game. I'm a fan of the deep ball mainly for what it does to the defense. If you go back and watch what happened after DJ catches a deep one, it's opened up for the run or the quick outs....I hope RG's timing with DJ is at least as good as Colts was! Now we just have to wait and see....fingers and toes crossed for the Burgundy and Gold! And I'd be remiss is I forgot to wish all you a Happy Halloween! I've got 10 lbs of candy to hand out and it will be gone by 8PM at the latest! Erad

eradicator
Hail ALL! Thanks guys....just trying to fit in, not trying to upset the bandwagon. Hey is anyone in the garage working on that thing? We might to need to get it rolling again come next week....I put Stabil i the tank when we put it away at the end of 2012 so it shouldn't take much to get it running..... Acworth skins fan
Have a question, how do I put up an avatar? Now keys to the game: 1: the Vikings have a good pass rush so protect Griffin. 2: As always, run the butler and Helu. 3: Hit the rookie QB early and often. 4: Amerson and Breeland play as well as last week. I still think we should rest RG3 this week, but have to go with the coach and training staff. If they say he's ready to go than so be it. Hope he has a good game and ready. HTTR Go to your profile by ckicking your name. Hover over your avatar space and the rest is self explanatory . I had to find or download something I like and then upload, crop and fit. I saw Breeland is a game time decision as he tweaked his knee at practice today. Bummer...

goskins10
Thanks manchild. Didn't hear that about Breeland, hope that he's alright! HTTR At first they made it sound bad. He is getting an MRI. But then they said it was just a sprain and he was day to day.
manchild157
Sprains are ''bad'' to ''not so bad''. Even ''not so bad'' will limit him if he plays esp if they give him a brace. He got his cleat caught in the turf as he was turning. I don't care if the mri comes back negative on a tear, this could potentially hamper his play. I hope they can put a sleeve on the knee and he can play, we are extremely thin at quality corners. Day to day translates to game time decision.
