Tom Compton To Get Start At Right Tackle

Recommended Posts

Glad to see Jay making some changes. With MS he would have stubbornly just kept playing the same guys. Jay is moveing some people around but he's not panicking and replacing everyone. Key players here and there.

I still hope Haslett is gone the end of the year but I like Jay.

It would be nice to see the changes translate to a win but the reality is that ....well....I'll put it this way....Colt McCoy is our starting QB, that about sums it up. I can't help but hope though but while my heart "hopes" my mind says Romo & Co is going to pick apart our team's weak secondary when they aren't running the ball through our D line. The Cowboys Oline has played very well so far this season so it could get ugly very quickly...but I"m still hoping for God's intervention!

I believe the changes Jay is implementing is to see what we have depth wise. Hopefully this translates to a better roster for next year. As I believe this season is a wash. But like Erad I do like to hope as we usually play well against the pukes. And Goskins, I've been a skins fan since the late sixties but if Haslett isn't gone next year I might get rid of the Sunday ticket and just go with the hockey ticket. Hard to watch our horrible defense week after week. HTTR

I too have been a Skins fan since the late 60s. For the first time I have actually been considering changing teams, or at least maybe adding a second team. I live in North Carolina and the Panthers at least seem to have a plan. Not going to do anything like pick some team across the country, although I really like what Arizona has done.

As late as 3 weeks ago I would never have thought this possible. But I am just tired. Tired of defending this team. Tired of trying to be positive only to have the players and coaches go out and half ass it. I can't see me really rooting for another team with the same heart as the Skins. I am more likely to turn to hockey and basketball than pick another NFL team.

But it says a lot that long time fans like us are looking for other things to do on Sundays.

It is asking the impossible to think that this change is going to do anything but give film to help coaches with off-season acquisitions. We got Murphy at olb and unless someone lights a fire under him he will be no help at all. I went back and watched the Titans game last week to see if I could figure out what he did after Rak went down and I saw nothing to tell me he could contribute. Regardless, he has to play with a chip on his shoulder because he will be facing one of the very best olines in the league. Wish some Cowturds would talk some smack about him and see what that does.

Goskins- It happens every year that we fans come in like a lion and leave like a lamb. I will record the game tonight but turn the channel if it gets out of hand, then start watching a day or two later.

Shame on all of you who are contemplating jumping ship. Yeah we suck & yeah we've sucked for decades & yeah we'll probably suck for decades to come...so what? Is that reason enough to bail? Would you bail on your family if things didn't go right? I didn't realise that Redskins Nation were a bunch of pussies....

Hail Canada-

Well, now that you put it that way! Nah, I would never jump ship, might get pissed for a couple of days but by Wednesday I'm back reading any news about the Redskins. I've been a Celtic fan for a long time and they haven't been relevant for a very long time, actually since a fella named Bird laced them up. Way to go Canada for slapping our boy Goskins back to reality.

For the record I would never jump ship. I was just pissed and blowing steam. Having been a fan since 1968, just can't imagine rooting for anyone else. If you read the end, I said I just might start doing other things than watching the games. They are just too frustrating.

But so it goes with this team. Just when you just can't another moment, not one more embarrassing beating, they provide a gem like tonight. I have been hard on haslett and I still am not sure he is the right person, but he dialed up a masterpiece tonight. Outside of letting Brandon ****ing weedon drive for a score, the D looked as good as I have seen it in years, and that includes the 7 game run.

Guys were flying all over the place. The rookies were making huge plays. Out LBs were everywhere. And the blitzes were well timed and well executed. If for a different bounces of the ball, we might have run away with this thing.  (I watched the replay on NFL. Replay)

Hail Man - Guilty as charged for getting too low for loss and too high for a win!!!  But it's just not me. And be honest, you wanted us to win, but you never really thought we could win!

But before you guys crucify me, I traveled to Houston tonight during the game, listening to it on the plane. But the important part is, I brought a Redskins shirt with me so I could wear it tomorrow. I had to wear it no matter as I brought just enough shirts! I will be wearing that shirt bigger than life tomorrow and pissing at least a few people off with any kind of luck!!

I am not completely back on board though. I have felt dallast was a pretender all along. If we win the next two and look solid (don't need blow outs, just solid play), then I will feel a lot better.

Last but not least, anyone else notice our D is better when Brian Orakpo is NOT in the lineup???   Just sayin'

Hail Goskins- knew all along you wouldn't jump ship, just blowing off steam. We are too invested to change teams. haha!

I was thinking the same thing about the youth movement letting Murphy, both Comptons, Breeland, Amerson play. Now if they will just let Long get in there for Chester.... I think our 2 corners have arrived. Breeland played Dez better than Dhall ever did and did it legally without having to get away with the holds beyond 5 yards. Goodbye Dhall, it's been ok but these youngsters just made you expendible.

Canada, I didn't say I'm leaving the team. Too much invested with time and heart. Only said that I'm probably not getting the ticket next year. Enough said on that.

Now what a game last night. Breeland, Amerson and the whole defense was awesome! Haslett really let it out last night, thou with out the two corners playing lights out it may have been different.

Colt looked very good after the first quarter jitters was behind him, and finally some running room for the butler and co. Compton was much better than Polumbus, excellent job sir. Now the only down side I really saw was once again Chester. But beyond that an excellent game by all three teams(off def and st). Is this a sign to come? Still not holding my breath, but as always I can hope!
