TK
For Immediate Release October 22, 2014 KEENAN ROBINSON NAMED NFC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The National Football League announced today that Washington Redskins linebacker Keenan Robinson has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in a Week 7 win against the Tennessee Titans. Against the Titans, Robinson posted a career-high and game-high 14 tackles. He became the first Redskins linebacker to record at least 14 total tackles in a game since Perry Riley, Jr. in Week 1 of the 2013 season. The middle linebacker helped hold the Titans to 236 total yards, the fewest by the Titans this season and Tennessee’s fewest since Week 6 of the 2013 season. This marks the first NFC Defensive Player of the Week award of Robinson’s career. He is the first member of the Redskins to earn the honor since cornerback DeAngelo Hall in Week 12 of the 2011 season. Robinson is the first Redskins linebacker to earn the honor since Brian Orakpo in Week 4 of the 2011 season. Redskins players have won 85 Player of the Week awards, including 34 NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors, since the NFL started awarding weekly honors in 1984. Califan007 The Constipated
Congrats to Keenan! *applause*...First two seasons marred by serious injury, yet still was able to come back and entrench himself as starter.
planter
Congrats, Keenan. Somewhere Fletch is smiling. Noticed that last Skin LB to be similarly honored was Brian Orakpo. And that the only other recent Skin recipient, D. Hall, is also out for the year. *@^#

carex
Congrats, but I must admit I didn't see this one coming. kind of agree. I mean normally doesn't it take turnovers or sacks? I'm guess no one had many game changing defensive plays this week
RED06
Congrats Keenan. I hope some of it rubs off on Perry Riley.
skins island connection
Must have been a slow week for defenses. Gee, Haslett might not be able to contain himself. Regardless, congrats to KeRo.
Warhead36
Love his ability to fly around the ball. He better bring another A game this week though...
emor09
Congrats, Keenan. We've been very fortunate at LT and MLB. We had years of dominance from Chris Samuels lead into Trent Williams, and now we go from London Fletcher (who was very good for 4-5 years) to Keenan who appears to be a star. SkinsFTW
The first time we won it since 2011? Who the hell won it the week Kerrigan had 4 sacks?
bradboyd80
Glad to see him getting some public recognition. He should absolutely be in the running for comeback player of the year. He's been one of the bright spots on the D thus far.
RhodeIsland Ave
Congrats Keenan. Lets hope Phillip Thomas can follow a similar path and rebound from his injuries and become a full time contributor.
s0crates
He had a really good game for sure. Defense in general looks much improved, current dogma about Haskett notwithstanding.

DogofWar1
I'm so happy he's playing well. He and Riley were supposed to be the ILB successors, but with injuries that was in jeopardy. Riley is alright, but he needs a partner who can cover TEs or slot receivers. Robinson finally getting healthy and surprisingly looking pretty finished is a breath of fresh air, so often players outside of the 1st and 2nd round don't pan out at all, and injuries often hamper players and they never quite get to their full potential. Hopefully Robinson keeps it up, stays healthy, and plays the way he did Sunday for a long, long time.

elkabong82
kind of agree. I mean normally doesn't it take turnovers or sacks? I'm guess no one had many game changing defensive plays this week well he also shut down Walker who is one of the best performing TEs in the league right now and TN's #1 receiver

Rskins06
Congrats to KR! Been a great replacement for fletch. With Breeland up for rookie, that also speaks well for the young guys. Maybe we get lucky and Trent does some good things replacing Rak!
