Lombardi's_kid_brother
My “Joe Flacco Elite” google alert’s were ringing off the hook again yesterday as ESPN caught up with Flacco and asked himthe unanswerble queston of “are you, Joe Flacco a Elite quaterback.” This has been the hottest topic in sport’s journlism for 3 years running, and no one is sick of discussing it. It was great to here Flacco himself weigh in on it though: Flacco added, “A lot of people the last few years were talking. … That’s just the word they used: ‘Elite, elite, elite.’ Who knows where it came from, but that’s just what it was. So, I think a lot of that has kind of quieted down a little bit, and we’ve gone out and won, and we’ve won consistently.” This is a incredible get by ESPN to get FLacco to discus his own ELititude,, its like if you asked God to give his take on which animal has the coolest mating behavour or asking Kelly St. John to autograph her own fleshlight. Such a great take. Redskin4ever
Flacco reminds me of Mark Rypien. He is an ok QB, but he can really throw the deep ball. When you surround him with great talent, utilize his strengths and minimize his chances to make mistakes, the guy looks great. He certainly doesn't lack in confidence or money. Mista T
Fantasy football players just don't get it when discussing Flacco. All he does is: wins most regular season games in NFL history since rookie season 67-36 wins playoff games 9-4 SB 47 MVP never missed a game nearly halfway into his 7th season Sorry those don't turn into fantasy stats, but, to true NFL fans (esp Ravens fans), the above stats are what count the most. He's not a fantasy-type short pass/high % completions stat-hound. He throws as many or more long passes as any other in the NFL, and in a run-oriented offense which masks the effectivness of his passing game. So called "elite" NFL QBs' playoff and SB records: Flacco: playoffs 9-4. SBs 1-0 Brady: playoffs 18-8, SBs 3-2 Manning: playoffs 11-12, SBs 1-1 Brees: playoffs 6-5, SBs 1-0 Roetheslisberger playoffs 10-4, SBs 2-1 Rodgers playoffs 5-4, SBs 1-
Redskin4ever
People calling Flacco elite are the same people who think Terry Bradshaw was a better QB than Dan Marino.
Lombardi's_kid_brother
I'm a believer in the Baldinger's Cat Theory - where a quarterback can be both elite and non-elite at the same time.

Destino
Joe Flacco had a moment when he channeled absolute greatness in the 2012 playoffs. How many QBs have ever thrown 11 TDs and no picks in the playoffs? That has to be an extremely short list if there is anyone else on it. Other than that however, I'm not sure he's ever been elite. Just a less interesting Eli Manning.
KuNiT21
Regardless of how you call it with Joe Flacco the Ravens are one of the best ran organizations in the NFL. Ozzie Newsome is unbelievable and I would only wish the Redskins were members of the Playoffs on the regular year after year after year.
Warhead36
I don't think he's elite, as there are really only four elite QBs in the NFL, maybe five if you want to put Rivers in there. But I'd kill to have a guy like Flacco QB my team. Dude is always his best when it matters most and just has that ****y SOB who wins aura about him. I too blame fantasy football for all of this elite talk. Flacco may or may not be elite. Who cares? What does matter is that the Ravens are a year-in-year-out Super Bowl Contender with him taking snaps and Ozzie Newsome building their roster. Actually, I really like the guy. So many Ravens fans dog him its unbelievable. All the dude does is stay healthy, Win ballgames, and make noise in The Playoffs consistently. Sure Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees might be "better", but its the Baltimorons that I would fear meeting in The PostSeason. That's for certain. All the guy does is do his job by keeping his team in the hunt for a Title every year. I'll take that.

Lombardi's_kid_brother
I think we need to decide what "elite" means. To me, Elite = Elite football player who makes football plays and wins.

Lombardi's_kid_brother
what does that mean? you used the word youre trying to define in your definition? You can't be considered an elite football player unless you are elite at playing football. Get it?
