It occurs to me that our new Head Coach has a decision to make, this week.  Possibly a big decision.

I assume that Colt really hasn't been getting many snaps, in practice, that Kirk has.  But, should that change?

Would Colt benefit more, from getting more snaps, than Kirk would/has?

Obviously, this decision is at least kinda related to the decision of which QB you intend to start, next week.

And I assume that the team is going to try to be cagey about floating "well, I just haven't decided", and all of those games.  (After all, why not try to make the other guys do a little extra work?  Even if it's only a little.)

But, while you can try to pretend like you haven't decided, you really do have to decide who's going to be getting the snaps, Monday.

I'm not really sure that I'm qualified to even have an opinion on this matter.  But I assume that there are lots of people on this board, who will have opinions.  And some (most?) of them are more qualified than me.  So, I figured I'd like to hear some opinions.

I think I'll even make a poll, since this topic kinda lends itself to one.

Well, I think its a moot point in starting Colt, may as well start Cousins.

Its one way to help a struggling QB to learn, and I seriously doubt even Griffin would do any good next week.

This team has so many problems unrelated to the QB its not funny.

I'd much rather  be in a debate of whether to keep or trade Cousins, but that scenario isn't quite working out.

start Cousins, and if he struggles, then insert Colt; truth is, it doesn't matter who is behind center right now, and if the team is serious about keeping Griffin, there's no point in sending him out if he were available.

Suspect I agree with you, (chip), across the board.

I don't think we beat Dallas, no matter which QB we start.  (Although, we were really competitive against Philly.  I don;t think we suck as bad as our record might indicate.)

I think this week is about developing a QB for the week after Dallas.

Unless RG3 is absolutely, positively, healthy enough to go, at this point you roll with Colt.

I am anxious to see how RG3 is going to do, but agree that there's no need to rush him back at this point. Playing the last seven games of the season will be enough of a sample size for Gruden to see how he wants to move forward in 2015.

Colt.  Cousins has lost all confidence in himself.  RG3 shouldn't return until after the bye, enough rushing him back already.

I will say it doesn't matter who, we looked awful on the field today against a LOUSY Titans team.  We won't beat the Cowboys.

Dallas aren't Tennessee who are almost as pathetically bad as Jacksonville. I highly doubt ir makes much difference in performance which of QB2 or 3 starts next week.

So it comes down to whether you want either Kirk or Colt to be here next year and if so, you start that guy. Personally. I hope neither is here so I couldn't really care which one starts. Although I've seen enough of Kalamity Kirk to last me a life time so I'd go Colt.

The one thing I hope doesn't happen, and that he and we have learnt from the past; is we don't rush Robert back before he's 100% ready.

Hail.

I'm going with Griffin even if we decide not to start him.

I know the safe thing to do is wait until after the bye week, but there's a very distinct possibility he will be medically cleared to go this week and he has already been designated as the starter. His biggest problem is experience, that includes first team practice. Every oppurtunity we have to help him become the franchise QB we need him to be we need to take it.

Now if you're asking who should get the second team reps, its Colt all day. At this point, I would move him up the depth chart to the #2 spot and wait until preseason of next year for Cousins to redeem himself (if he's still on the roster).

I dont think it matters.. But the only reason I wouldn't give RG the reps (if he's 100%) is if we think another beating in primetime could damage him mentally or something? But I can't imagine he's ONE HUNDRED PERCENT at the moment?

But it feels like he'll need to get used to losing regardless when he comes back, cause Im not sure this team as a whole is capable of winning many games.. They aren't very smart, don't play as a unit very well and love shooting themselves in the foot with turnovers, penalties, poor tackles, etc.. Just hoping RGIII can make it watchable until they maybe click on something to build on, if that's even possible with the current personnel..

Twist my arm for a choice and I say give Colt the reps just to be sure RG is healthy..

Hec,

at halftime I was hoping gruden would have told Ryp 'don't stop with the jersey, get the pads on'.

Scenarios:

1. Cousins starts, maybe plays better, maybe not. Either way we're not sniffing a close game here.

2. McCoy starts, nothing close to having decent amount of time w/#1s and we get murdered.

3. Griffin starts, rusty, not in 'football shape', risking injury with what some call an o-line, does not good and get throttled.

Its a lose/lose/lose situation, and I think Gruden knows it too.unless they have plans on going  undefeated the rest of the season, there's no realistic shot at paloffs, so why risk getting other players injured?

I'd guess that most players on the team are one late hit away from starting a full-on fight on the field.

DJax nearly got a 15 yd'er with the call involving him late in the game. Players are pissed, undisciplined, and a ticking time bomb.

I agree with other posters..

This team doesn't have the depth, talent of desire to compete on the National stage..

If they do pull a Eagles performance it'll be because of turnovers by Romo..

Kirk's season is over here...

I'm sure we'll see him starting for another team down the line and say "WTF", because it's happened

so many times here..+

RGIII is a Piñata, he's not ready.. This team can wait another week, as it's not going anywhere.

Give the shot to McCoy.. He didn't have a real shot with Cleveland either.

It's about time McCoy got his shot! I think we have found a diamond in the rough. He barely got to sniff the field in the pre-season, but the little bit he did play, he seemed more decisive than Cousins and Griffin both. A much quicker release and knew where to go with the ball. Was today just a fluke???

Colt had a great college career at Texas. Unfortunately he got drafted into a bad situation. He never had the same offensive coordinator two years in a row since he's been in the NFL. Hopefully he'll get a shot next week to prove this week was no fluke. Don't get me wrong, I love Griffin too, but he still has a lot to learn in this system, and he also needs to become a pocket passer. McCoy is a step ahead of him right now, so stick with the hot hand!

I would go with Colt and give Griffin some more time to heal and prepare. Colt did everything Gruden could ask for from a backup coming into the second half of a game, so he should be rewarded with the start next week. I don't think he's a potential starter on this team, but if Cousins doesn't learn to stop the meltdowns he will become the #3 qb if not outright cut. I really hope that isn't the case because if he can keep his composure he can make any throw on the field, and at times he makes some very impressive throws that surprise me. But in this league you can't turn the ball over like that...

I don't suppose the people saying RG3 should get the most snaps would care to explain their reasoning? Cause I gotta say, I'm curious to hear it.

I will bite... I am eager to see him play again, despite knowing that it would be risky and perhaps foolish to play him until after the bye, in my head I hope he comes back for a prime time game in Texas and plays great. If he cleared, j would love to see it.

I also refuse to believe Dallas is a top team in the conference. Their D is dog**** on paper and I would love to be the team that exposes them.

Probably being a homer, but who else would watch this team besides is blind homers and those who just like to **** and moan.
