Califan007 The Constipated
If you haven't seen this yet, it's pretty entertaining. Gruden was miked-up for the game: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-films-sound-efx/0ap3000000397309/Sound-FX-Redskins-adapt-in-Week-2-victory I like Gruden's personality. I really hope he works out for us.

LuRedskins
I'm glad to see Griffin smiling in the locker room after a good win for the team and not too down about his injury.
PigskinRedskin
It's a great video, he's got a lot of energy on the field and very interactive with the players. I feel the personality of our team is similar to his (see Baker's dancing, etc) and is a good vibe in the locker room and on the field.
jflow78
That was awesome. I really like Gruden and I hope he's our long term answer.
Diehard Otis
I really like Gruden and I hope he's our long term answer. Ditto. He had me when he called 4 straight rushes on the Goal Line in the (Pre-Season) Cleveland game. Sure have been waiting a looooong time for a Head Coach of ours to be committed to Physical Football(besides Daddy Joe, of course!). That sequence proved that he was gonna put his money where his mouth is. I'm convinced that he's the right man for this job. This is gonna be a fun season. Jacoah
Out of all of the things in that video that Gruden said, the most important that stood out to me was "go have some fun." I think for too long we've had a team that has forgotten that while it's a lot of hard work they shouldn't forget their childhood football roots. You could see that RGIII, before he was injured, was relaxed in and outside of the pocket. It didn't seem like he was trying to force anything; he was seemingly beginning to remember that it's as much fun as it is work. I think Jay Gruden is a great fit for this team. Hope he is here for a very long time.
Baughlin'
Can't.Stop.Watching. It's hilarious how he has someone else hang on to the challenge flag. Like its 'the button'. Or a drunk guy looking for his car keys. His relationship with Kirk seems a bit awkward, surprisingly. Gotta love how he engages each player, especially the defense. Early returns say this guy can call plays and coach the whole team.I think Jim Haslett was in awe, and so am I.
Califan007 The Constipated
Who is the guy Gruden's talking to at the very beginning?
jflow78
Who is the guy Gruden's talking to at the very beginning? I'm not 100% certain, but I'd guess Jedd Fisch, the Jag's OC. Gus Bradley (Jags HC) and Gruden worked together in Tampa from 2006-2008 but it's not him, and DB coach Mike Rutenberg worked for Gibbs as an assistant during the Gibbs 2 era, but it doesn't seem like he and Gruden have any connections. Fisch was an Arena League coach for 1 season (WR coach for New Jersey Red Dogs) while Gruden was HC of the Orlando Predators, so there's a slim chance they met there and just keep up the "Former Arena league guys who made it in the NFL" brotherhood. That's my best guess, and here's a picture of Fisch: He also apparently has a super-man crush on Jay's brother Jon: He has Jon's resume taped to his bathroom mirror and reads it every morning. Also, he's never played football in his life (not even in high school), "or even in Pop Warner". http://jacksonville.com/sports/football/jaguars/2013-02-07/story/young-jedd-fisch-has-great-grasp-game According to the article he is the type of guy to be pro-active in asking people for coaching advice. He put flyers on Steve Spurrier's car windshield over and over again while at University of Florida as a student, telling Spurrier he was willing to do anything to get on the staff as a student assistant. Since Gruden was in the process of winning an Arena league championship as a first year HC, while Fisch was coaching with New Jersey at the same time. I was working and saw the team the night before, that's definitely who that was.
Redskins3D
Awesome, thanks for posting. Interesting to just see very Casual interaction with Haslett. Like they're distant co-workers....I wonder if this really is Haslett doing his own thing, That said, Shanny had him in the box so who really knows. Stadium-Armory
KC8: "There are plays to be made out there" Heck yea there are, go make some more kid! Also, love seeing Robert in there at the end with the team despite his injury. Not pouting or being disconnected. Team!
TSO
That said, Shanny had him in the box so who really knows. He was in the box because of shoulder surgery it turns out. But ES likes the narrative of Haslett running away from the villainous Mike, so I don't want to step on anyone's toes or anything. That was really fun to watch, though. I hope we get to watch a lot more of those happy Sound FX videos from Gruden.
Cooleyfan1993
yeah i liked that video. it seems like the redskins are never on Sound FX at all during the season (the only times i've seen the team on sound fx is Jim Zorns first couple of games, Mike Shanahans first couple of games, and then now Jay Grudens first couple of games. that might be because we sucked for most of jim and mikes years in DC. Yng Lady88
Wow, that was awesome to watch. I feel likeGruden really fits and gels well this this team - players and coaches. Many players have already said he's a players's coach and relates to them well. Love to see the passion and enthusiasm. Jesus, it's like night and day between he and Shanny. Morneblade
I wasn't really happy about the Shanahan hire. I wasn't happy with how Zorn was hired. I wasn't sure about the Gruden hire but I have been cautiously optimistic (except for keeping Haslett). This was good to watch, I like how he interacts with the players and his energy level. Feeling better and better about the hire. And I can't believe I'm about to say this....but if Haslett's D continues to play like it has the last 2 weeks, I'll give Gruden credit for keeping him instead of going after say, Wade Phillips (whom I wanted). I also noticed how big Robert was smiling in the locker room, injury and all. For all the press about him being a supposed "me" guy, that certainly doesn't jive with it. Nice too see that too. srtman04
I really like the way Gruden coaches. It's just so refreshing to see such high energy and positive vibes coming out, and he looks like he genuinely having fun and it's not just "a job". I truly hope we have found the head coach for many years to come.

Baughlin'
I can understand. Kirk's kinda dorky. He's straight out of "Leave it to Beaver" or something. I agree completely on the Cousins thing. After the first touchdown it was like he couldn't get past Kirk fast enough to get to Young and congratulate him lol. Almost missed that. I wonder if he has a Parcells type approach to QB's or just doesn't know Kirk that well yet.
RG3Hunna
Yea I don't think he really knows Kirk that well lol. So I guess all those reports about Kirk was always his guy and he was forced to start RGIII were false because by how awkward their conversation was it seems like the guy doesn't even know Kirk.
