P13
So it's gotta be in everyone's mind that this might come up. NFL fans always overvalue their own players - I remember people thinking we could get a first rounder for Chris Cooley back in 2010. But that being said...I'd like to think that RG3, his injury apprently not as serious as was originally feared (who saw THAT coming?! Some good luck for a change), is worth a first-round pick to someone at this point. Anything beyond that I highly doubt. What's the consensus around here? SkinInsite
How about wait to see if Cousins can actually play before trading RG3.

BRAVEONTHEWARPATH93
He'll be here until the end of his contract most likely but for ****s, I'd say you could get a decent hull for him. Like a first and third. Maybe lol It'd be stupid to trade him at this point though.

What's the point when there's no chance he's getting traded unless Cousins is the second coming of Tom Brady.

dsciambi
Someone in the RG3 injury thread mentioned that his 5th year option has to be decided by May 2015. Honestly, even if RG3 doesn't play again this season, I think the Redskins have no choice but to exercise that option. I doubt anyone wants to take the chance with draft picks to grab a potentially injury prone quarterback. Not only that, but do the Redskins really want to get rid of RG3 and he ends up being the player we all thought he'd be in 2012?

It's no different than wanting to dump Portis after Ladell Betts had a decent season or throwing Orakpo on the trash pile after Rob Jackson intercepts Romo. We've done this time and time again, it's stupid.

If Kirk played well and the Skins win, the calls for a trade this offseason will certainly gain momentum. If the Skins win or lose and Kirk is ho-hum, taking the expensive option and putting off the decision another year will make sense. I'd hope we'd bring RG3 back next season. The news that the injury isn't a definite season-ender is huge. I think it gives us more time and more options. I don't think it's "beyond stupid" to be discussing opinons on RG3's trade value. Do you seriously think similar conversations aren't being had at Ashburn?
Taylor703
But we both know Griff isn't going anywhere. Chill man The **** gets annoying. I simply do not and never have understood the obsession with back ups here? It's not just the QB position, it's every position. From Anthony Mix all the way back to guys like Zeron Flemister and Skip Hicks. It's insane.

All those guys you mentioned didn't have studs ahead of them. I know you think RG3 is gonna go down as the GOAT but not a lot of ppl share that sentiment and thus that's why ppl are calling for Cousins. It happens. If RG3 can stay healthy and develop, it'll stop.

Redskins3D
I don't understand what your missing, Taylor.... When #1 plays like ****... people look for #2. The more invested the team is in a player, the slower the switch but eventually it needs to happen. Right now, I highly doubt the phone would ring for RG3, at least not anywhere he'd wanna go. My heart couldn't take seeing him in the Black & Silver.
abdcskins
I"d think there might be a team out there that would part with a first rounder for him. If not that, then like a 2nd and a 5th. His injury history and recent play have really dimished his value.

Like our HC said, "fluke" injuries, he'll return and dominate this division. BUT, in the mean time, I just ordered my yellow star trek shirt!!! Let's go Captn Kirk!! DC9
For every play Lavar made he didn't make 20 Someone on NFL network (I don't remember who, but I saw it this morning) said he was going to check with NFL execs and get a "feel for what they think RG3 would be worth in a trade". So we'll know soon. Bottom line, he ain't going anywhere right now and he'll more than likely finish his contract out here before we make any kind of a move (if we need to).
