Apple might have a little to answer for hear beyond their lax security...  Some celebrities are claiming that they had deleted these pictures years earlier, yet they remained on Apples servers.

On a private note,  and to prove their is justice in the world;  that's where I keep the naked pictures of myself which are proven to blind the average man or woman...  So we can be sure the criminals have been punished.

It's...funny how far we've come as a society. Maybe just five years ago, I'd be scouring the Internets for a link and be getting PM after PM asking me for it. I used to take such pride in my Internet connections and sleuthing skills. These days though? Everyone here could probably find a link within five minutes. We've grown so much...*sigh* And outgrown me. The world has passed me by.

THIS IS THE ONLY TYPE OF PHOTO OF JENNIFER LAWRENCE THAT SHOULD BE SHARED.

a "leaked nude" is a NON-CONSENSUAL form of sexual violation and ANYBODY who participates by viewing and sharing is part of the problem.

women's bodies are NOT public property. we are human beings and we do not exist for other people's sexual pleasure without our consent. anybody with an ounce of empathy should be horrified and disgusted by this. ugh. smdh.

Goodness me, I didn't know the problem was THAT bad. Even Hope Solo had hers leaked.

There is an ethical boundary we are passing here.

There are people who want their nudes leaked, they do it professionally or they do it on video, however this is done with their consent. They said it's okay to make us into a sex symbol for Playboy, and other such organizations. Even some celebrities are willing to appear nude in movies, but again, this is done with their consent.

And then there are these celebrities here that have taken nudes on their own cameras, for their own private purposes. And these images are leaked for the world to see.

It's easy to say "Hurr durr don't use icloud hurr durr security issue it's their fault don't take nudes". And I understand, I'd never take nudes on my phone. If you look at my phone now it's just stuffed animal pictures and scenery. I'll say that right now. But this is blatant invasion of privacy and we should be terrified.

thank you IX. Very wise words.

Unbelievable how people are these days.

LOOK, an INVASION OF PRIVACY!

oh BOY!

Meaning these people had these for their own private  reasons, someone STOLE them and now because they STOLE THEM and made them public, everyone grabs their dicks and forgets ethics entirely.

I saw this headline on Drudge today, and of course, its all about the INVASION of PRIVACY< and oh by the way, we're going to publish the pics and invade her privacy completely.

Anything to see some tits, i guess.

Why not grab the closest woman and rip her top off?

She's keeping her tits private, and know that only means we're all just waiting for someone to expose them for us.

So, rip her top off, and then everyone gather round and masturbate. look how humiliated she is! Erotic!

break into her house and steal her panties! We'd all just LOVE to have a look.

It's one thing to know humanity as a complete whole is as mature as a 12 year old and as slimy as your typical trench-coat porn theater guy, it's when you all prove it that it gets tough.

IC, I felt strongly about the Erin Andrews leak where some creep filmed her thru a peep hole. I still haven't seen that footage nor do I want to. I don't have the same sympathy here, these women took these photos voluntarily and uploaded them to the cloud. I mean, come on. How stupid can you be?

I'm not saying they deserved it or anything like that, but I don't think it's that big a deal. These women earn their livings as sex symbols. I'm having a hard time seeing this in the same light as the Erin Andrews violation, for instance

The biggest issue is that these women are taking these nudes in the first place, so people figure "why can't they be public, if they're taking pics of themselves naked". Because they didn't give permission. Because those are private pictures.

It doesn't matter if they shouldn't be doing that, if they didn't know the risk of putting pictures on the phone, if they didn't learn from Scarlett Johannsen's mistake of leaving them on her phone for hackers to get. It's all about privacy. If you have money and a hacker steals that too, is that right? Is that moral? But it's okay when a hacker steals women's pictures. Because women are hot and everything.

The double standard is repulsive.

I hope that what is not lost in the noise is this...

Some of the celebs have come out already that they had deleted these photos from their iCloud accounts but someone the hackers were able to retrieve them...

With the cloud computer taking off past few years.. This should concern the general public more than the actual leaked pictures (unless you were one of these celebrities...)

This.

Nothing personal ever touches the cloud from me. I have everything personal on my passport and that hard drive never leaves my room for anything. If I do have to carry something personal around, it's on my encrypted usb flash. I don't mess around with computer security.

Granted, I'm no celebrity, but I still don't want anybody having any dirt on me for any reason. Screw that...

Important lesson here is nothing ever leaves the internet. One you hit send or upload it's somewhere forever.

Exactly, as someone who works in adolescent counseling I can tell you this has become a near epidemic... We're having entire lessons on the risks once you "hit send." Times have changed.

Apparently the celebs felt that as long as their phone is in their possession, they're safe. Pretty naive thinking, and they're (hopefully) learning that lesson as we speak.

I've done some photo touch-up work for various semi-professional models, one of which is 18. She had some slightly revealing pics that she wanted me to make more modest through Photoshop wizardry lol...I obliged and when done she wanted me to show her through Messenger. In order to do that I uploaded low res versions to my phone. Immediately after showing them to her I deleted them from my phone and told her to do the same, for this very reason. Not that anyone, anywhere would desire to hack my iCloud storage for any reason whatsoever, but if one nutbag out there did I would make sure that the only thing they'd see was pics I've shared online all over the place for years, along with some family gathering stuff. I'm floored that actresses would casually take nude photos of themselves without putting much thought into how safe those photos would remain.

That being said, I'm sorry but if someone told me I could see a nude photo of Jennifer Lawrence within 1 minute and a few clicks, I'm gonna look lol...I won't share it or try and make money from it, but yeah, I'm gonna look. I'm a guy...we look.

I see it slightly differently. To me, it's more like an auto accident on the highway. We don't purposefully cause the accident, but we'll slow down a bit to look at it for a moment as we drive by. Does that mean we're a ghoulish society who doesn't value life, or does it mean we're just human and we're looking because it's something you don't see everyday?

You look if the accident is right there. Sure, and maybe assist if you can.

You don't go around looking for accidents, just to look do you ?

Plenty of women available to look at online and in person. Even those women.

And Jennifer Lawrence especially is not some amazing beauty to have to look up.

On the internet, everything is "right there". But the main point I was getting at is the reason behind our looking...it's pretty close to why we look at car accidents, imo (or hell, even just a cop pulling someone over for a ticket).

This is far more a comment on how our society treats and perceives nudity than anything else.

On a music message board I frequent someone had a thread a few years ago about "leaked photos" of someone named Kendra. Since it IS a music board I assumed it was a singer. Wrong. It was a freakin' Playboy centerfold. Yes, leaked nudes of a person who poses nude for a living. Unless the photos included her with an inflatable donkey, I failed to see why anyone would give a **** about leaked nudes of her.

But in our soceity, seeing a woman nude, semi-nude or even just without a bra means SEXSEXSEX!!!...Even if we've already seen them nude for years. Here in the U.S., nudity has always been equated to sex, titillation, sin, etc. When I was in Europe 20 years ago, I saw nudity in TV commercials lol. I don't condone the stealing of the photos and no one should make a dime from them, but I also don't perceive people who view them once they're "right there" online as equally complicit. If they pay to see them, then yes. But you don't even have to visit sites to see any pic online, google lines them all up for you. So even the sites hosting them don't need to benefit from the web hits (well, outside of google, and I highly doubt that google's value will budge one iota from these leaks lol).
