EvilMonkeyBoy
IRVING, Texas -- A second member of the Dallas Cowboys' secondary has been suspended four games by the NFL with second-year safety Jakar Hamilton being sanctioned Thursday. Hamilton will miss the first four regular-season games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Earlier this month, cornerback Orlando Scandrick was suspended four games for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. As with Scandrick, the Cowboys were aware of the possibility of Hamilton's suspension before it was announced. Hamilton said after the game that his second infraction in the substance abuse program, which resulted in the suspension, was missing a urine test during organized team activities. He said he showed up to provide the sample after the Cowboys' workout, but the league's collector was no longer there. "It was still my fault," Hamilton said. "I must own up to it. It was nobody else's fault but mine. I put myself in this predicament and I've got to get myself out. The only way is to just keep God first and to keep pushing and don't feel sorry for myself. Everybody makes mistakes. I've learned and I've just got to keep pushing forward." http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story/_/id/11423959/dallas-cowboys-db-jakar-hamilton-suspended-four-games-violation-nfl-substance-abuse-policy I know this guy isn't nearly as entrenched on the team as Scandrick but their reporters seem to be saying he's a guy with too much potential to outright release. I really hope they change the way suspensions are handed down for recreational, non performance enhancing drugs but if it bites the Cowboys in the ass this year I'm not gonna complain. I also figured hey, what's the harm in another thread discussing how historically bad the Cowboys defense could be next year? Even in comparison to what we fielded last season, and the hits just keep coming. Fingers crossed that the Redskins will steer clear of suspensions for this kind of stuff now that Tanard is gone, I really hope Breeland keeps it together. Leonard Washington
Either the NFL has really taken their testing program up a notch or players are getting dumber every year.
