This is HapHaszard, in the booth with HOF44 on the sidelines.  We will be covering the game for you, tonight.    After partaking of one of the best prime rib dinners and now munching on a TK approved

chocolate chip cookie I'm hoping not to fall asleep before the game starts.

OK some info:

SERIES HISTORY:

Regular season series tied 9-9

Redskins lead preseason series, 8-5

Last regular season meeting: Sept. 30, 2012 (24-22, WAS)

Last preseason meeting: Aug. 29, 2013 (30-12, WAS)

Last Saturday, the Redskins suffered their first defeat of the preseason, dropping a 23-17 decision to the Baltimore Ravens. The loss was the Redskins’ first in preseason play since Aug. 18, 2012 at Chicago, a span of 736 days. The Redskins have won eight of their last nine and 12 of their last 15 preseason games.

I'm not sure what to expect tonight, probably a bit of a sloppy game with no starters and a bunch of guys on both teams trying to "pop" the bubble they are on.

The field goal team is practicing on the field right now  Both Forbath and Hocker making them from 45 yards no problems, both good from 51 yards, both good from 56. They do that in a game its going to make Jay's decision really hard.

Malone and Way on the field practicing punts, to be honest I can't see much difference in hang time and distance between the two.  Very unoffical timing on hangtime but appeared close to the same.

First Quarter

Its 87 degrees at kickoff Tampa will receive

Hocker kicking off,  returned from 3 yards in endzone to 17.

Redskins having problems stopping the run.

Pewter Pirates have to punt.

McCoy is the QB.

Nice rollout by McCoy pass for 14 yards

3rd and 12 at 26

Pass to Thompson 4th down Way to Kick

59 yard punt 9 yards return.

Redskins D held. Washington is winning the field position battle, now they need to do something with it.

Breeland doesn't seem to be having a good night.  Redskins 3 and out.

Redskin down on the field, Cant see who.  Looks like Chis Neld, they are taking him out on a cart, must be serious. I hopeThe Bearded One will be OK.

45 yard FG by Kai Forbath

Redskins 3-0

Forbath kickoff into the endzone but taken out to the 17.

Fumble on a sack recovered by Gabe Miller, to the 2 yard line.

end of the 1st Quarter

2 yard pass for the TD by the Redskins, extra point by Hocker

Redskins 10 - 0

Colt McCoy 8-11 for 73 yards passer rating of 120.6

McCoy pass intercepted in the endzone, Turnover.  TB gets the best field position of their night starting on the 20.

Redskins running game finally woke up.

As the Tampa reporter next to me said just now 2 minute warning, the highlight of the game.

McCoy 13 of 17 for 143 years QB rating of 96.

McCoy's 2nd pass into the endzone intercepted this is getting habit forming.  WE WANT COUSINS.

Punts Redskins 2 for 51.5 avg.

People say this game is "meaningless" but not for me...or any bubble player.

Maybe casual fans don't care, but I eagerly look forward to roster position battles. Can Redd beat out perpetually injured CT? Does Nick Williams have a chance?

What about Akeem Davis? Who will win the kicking and punting competition?

Meaningless? To me, that's must-see TV!

I dunno...Hocker has the bigger leg!

I actually would like to see that this game.  So far, either the coaches have been reigning Hocker in, or his leg isn't as strong as advertised (which I don't believe).

It would make me feel a lot better about our kicker situation if Hocker booted a couple out of the end zone tonight.

It would make a lot of us feel that way.

Maybe we can trade Colt McCoy to the Rams?

I had a fantasy draft today... I chuckled every time a Rams weapon was taken.

Their battle cry is "Kurt Warner" though.

Kind of upset not to see Tevita get the start.

Wow...as many here as in Tampa. Sheesh.

preseason.nfl.com has the opponents commentary AGAIN!!!

Usually the home team.

TV commentary sucks for this game particularly because we don't want meaningless interviews. We NEED to keep up with substitutions, etc

Kickoff!
