Washington_Redskin
We talking about practice? Â Â Allen Iverson is smiling somewhere. Â First we get the new rules to handcuff defenses, one Seattle home game on prime time (out of fear hwo much they will blow out opponents) and now this garbage. Â As a Skins fan I have every reason to hate the Hawks (and do), but this is BS. Â My guess is the last thing the NFL wants is Seattle blowing out Peyton Manning in the SB two years in a row. Diehard Otis
I dunno. Â What bothers me is how this ash-hole turned into a genius after The Super Bowl. Â I mean, he gets props for Winning it (of course) but that guy doesn't impress me. Â Russell Wilson falls into his lap & his teams play in that noise induced stadium. Â My read of Carroll is that he's great at compiling talent & is a strong motivator, but genius Head Coach he is not. Â Of course his way Wins too. Â But hasn't he shown the propensity to 'bend the rules' when he sees fit? Â Funk dat, fine him.
steve09ru
If this was the first instance that Carroll didn't follow rules then so be it but his past has showed that he completely disrespects the game by doing so whether it's college or pros. Hopefully the next instance will result in a Sean Payton type suspension. The problem he has is he can't run away this time to avoid disciplinary action like he did in college. Never thought I'd say it, but good for Pete Carroll.  ~Bang  Yeah, I'm really starting to get bothered by the things the NFL chooses to do, whether they're rule changes or enforcement of league policies (fines, suspensions, etc).  Why does the NFL even dictate that there are "no contact" days in camp? Shouldn't that be something left up to the individual teams (and yeah, I'm sure the reality is probably that it was something from one of the CBA's)? gortiz
Earl Thomas, one of the best free safety's in the game is returning punts Wilson, the leagues best young QB, with out question, played three quarters in the third preseason game Sherman, the leagues best CB, played well into the 3rd Qtr the last game  I'm with Bang ... good for him. I bet they wear that fine as a badge of freaking honor ... we are tough, sorry.

Shouldn't that be something left up to the individual teams (and yeah, I'm sure the reality is probably that it was something from one of the CBA's)? This is more on the player's union as i understood it. Players griped about hard minicamps, felt it hurt their potential bottom line. pjfootballer
Mediocre head coach until he started cheating. Cheated in college and cheating with the pros. Wonderful!

Leonard Washington
Given that this is the second year in a row, one would think the penalty would be harsher.

Seattle can jump back into the surf, for all I care.I'd certainly love to shove their faces into the dirt; I still haven't gotten over the Fail Mary. I'm really worried, though, now that we've lost the center point in both our lines. B.J. Raji is done for the year with a torn bicep, and J.C. Tretter is will be out for several weeks with a fractured knee. Our options to replace Raji include second year player, former 5th round pick Josh Boyd who really started coming on late last season, but I'd prefer it if he were bigger to play nose. Former Viking Letroy Guion who's been hurt all off-season with a hamstring injury; do not have any preseason tape on him yet. And Undrafted Free Agent Mike Pennel, who at 330+ pounds has the ideal size for the position and has impressed in preseason, but he hasn't been going in with the ones. To replace Tretter, we have 5th round rookie Corey Linsley. Been reading good things about him, but he hasn't had any time to develop a chemistry with the #1 o-line at this point as Tretter was getting all of the work with them. Fortunately Sitton and Lang are pretty damn good guards who can help with the calls at the line, but when playing against the Seattle D, you can't afford question-marks. No, there defense is #1 because their corners used to be allowed to straight up mug people. Yeah the rest of them are good and they probably have the best safeties in the league, but we will see how well this #1 defense plays now that they aren't allowed to disrupt routes with BS and give their safeties extra time to get places. Seriously, you are a blowhard if you're a reporter playing up Seattle fans and their HFA as anything but competitive imbalance. They get to go 8-0 or 7-1 at home, secure HFA through the playoffs, and get to the Super Bowl by beating teams that are absolutely better than them on a neutral field (SF).  **** Seattle and their mediocre at best fans. Diehard Otis
I guarantee you they'll still be number one at the end of this season. They had a great year last season & got their ring.  Now are they a perennial League Power?  I seriously have my doubts.  And I don't think they have the best Defense in the League this year.
