I've seen two assessments that had Williams higher than Smith (NFL.coms mid 2013 season report and the Feb 2014 Bleacher Report). Williams was ranked #3 in the former and #1 in the later as overall lineman. Smith was ranked #6 in the later.

Much like every other fan site on the web including this one (see Cousins Kirk and the supposed 3rd round pick we're getting for him), CZ tends to over rate their own players.

I still remember the great Roy Williams is the best safety in the league debate in which CZ mods had to come in and calm the masses. Mind you, this was when Ed Reed, Polamalu, and Dawkins, among others were in their prime.

Williams is the better Tackle, but Smith is very good too. It's not a wide margin.

When Tyron Smith came in the league at RT he was impressive as a rookie but the next year when he moved to LT and Doug Free moved to RT, he struggled most of the year.

Trent William have had a few bad games per year but never struggled throughout the whole year.

With that said he did bounce back last year and play solid, but he havent reached Williams level yet.

Smith is more athletic in pass protect in recovery but dont have the punch like Williams. slight Edge: Williams.

Run blocking is what separates both. Williams is the clear mauler compared to Smith. Edge: Williams.
