GREETINGS:

RULES:  As always, this thread is only as successful as you guys make it.  Participation is always deeply appreciated and makes this much more fun.  When you see a tweet or a story in reference to signings or rumors, please post the source and I’ll update it here in the OP.  If you just post “We traded for Larry Fitzgerald,“ that’s just going to tick a bunch of people off.  So please post a tweet or at least post where you heard it so myself or another member can go look for it.  And “No Stairway to Heaven”.

Here is a link to a listing of all available slotted free agents (pending Cuts and Resigns)

http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/freeagents/fa.php?option=QB&y=2014

My Top of the list players

1) Ryan Harris OT Houston. Watching 74 every snap get beat is just awful

2) Eric Winston OT Arizona. Same as above

3) Aqib Talib DB. Lets Deangelo play in the slot where I feel he would be best

4) Paul Soliai NT. If we are keeping the 3-4 (which I think we should. Different thread) then we need a true NT

Well let's see.

On offense, we have 4, maybe 5 guys of a top tier standard. Trent, Pierre, The Butler, the developing Reed, and the QB in the right circumstance. (DY as a FB too if you want to count him.).

On defense, we have Hall and Kerrigan when fully healthy.

Last season's run-in masked a ton and fooled us all.

Hail.

I'll bite on Talib, though I don't think he makes it out of New England.

We've had about 4 different shots at Ryan Harris and we've obviously not liked him, though.  Same with Winston, if Kubiak didn't re-sign him then Shanny isn't going to sign him (they have that bro-code thing going).

So if Shanny is still the coach, I wouldn't bet on either of these two to be targeted.

Soilai is going to be a bit past his prime for where we will need to be next year, too.  We'll see what the new Defensive Coordinator likes, though.  I'd like someone more like a Linval Joseph, type.

For me, we need to secure the middle of the defense.  The best way to do that would be through the draft for ILB and through FA for FS.

NT, it depends on what's available.

For me, we need another WR threat opposite Garcon and some linemen.  We'll start with RT, but we need to address some of the interior stuff.

Maybe it's in house already, but at the minimum RG needs to be pushed and we might have to look at Center, too.  I'm hoping we can see some of these kids over the next few games.

21 of our own FA's in the OP. ONE true starter among them if we're brutally honest. DHall.

The lack of top talent on this team 4 years in is staggering.

Hail.

Totally agree.  And he needs to be back for the right money.

Amerson and Hall with proper safeties will be fun to watch.

Anyone have a comprehensive list of free agents from other teams?

KFFL link is in the OP.  The OP will will have all of your needs, my brother.

Half the defense needs resigned or replaced.  I doesn't make any sense to use up cap space to maintain what we have defensively and we certainly can't fill all those holes with with premium priced Free Agents.

http://overthecap.com/ is a good place to see who may be available and get a ballpark idea on contracts.  It looks to me like there is more talent available defensively.  Which is good.  I kind of feel our hand is forced.  We have to focus on defense.

Offensively I'm not real exited about the WR group.  I would love Alex Mack to solidify the interior OL.  But It doesn't seem to fit Shanny philosophy to spend $6 plus million on a center. Assuming he is still here, especially with all the defensive problems.

Part of me is waiting for some other BS like Violating The Spirit Of Breathing Oxygen before it's time to go shopping.

Anyway, I think if the Shanny's stay, and maintain their current structure offense wise, then they better find some defense, so we don't get caught sucking our thumbs and  picking our asses, down by 14+ points every Sunday

Orakpo/Jackson will come down to two factors, in this order:

1) Coaching Staff

2) Money

Scheme will be a primary motivator on if we re-sign either, both or neither. Both are very good football players, and both are starter quality.

I can't really say much in regards to what I would do, as I don't know where we'll be coaching wise. We may VERY well be hitting the reset button on at least one side of the ball, perhaps two, maybe even all three.

Not really looking to rebuild this thing via FA.

Only 2 places I would invest and that would be at C and RT to solidify the o-line.

I think the whole team can get turned around with a rebuilt OL. I mean, not that they don't need rebuilding elsewhere, but the domino effect of a new OL is far reaching for this squad.

To protect our investment in RG3 I think would be extremely wise.

Larry is not a FA. we'd have to trade for him or he'd have to be cut.

Exactly my point. I said possibility, and it's a very likely one too. The Cardinals are losing games just like the Redskins, and they're trying to build a team, hold on to good playver, and to keep Fitz at that price is crazy. My fingers are crossed.

So we, as a rebuilding team as well, pay the same price and it isn't crazy?

Rebuilding in this league doesn't go over well for Redskins fanbase. The league has changed to a win now, the redskins front office have to draft correctly, and spend correctly. I'm sure a lot of us want a stud WR opposite of Garcon. The Redskins also have a franchise QB unlike the Arizona Cardinals who are stacked at WR. If the Cardinals let go Fitz I'm sure we have the money to sway him to us, plus signing other FA's, and drafting some good talent in the 2-4 round(Shanny has shown he can do this) that can contribute to this team.

Shanahan has shown he can draft well after the 2nd round? This is news to me. Other than his obligatory RB miracle in the 6th, Reed and maybe Cousins, what exactly are you referring to? We have four years worth of drafts to look back on--you're impressed?
