  1. Maybe with Swearinger we can persuade him to come to D.C. I think we have a pretty good shot. The only big issue is that Mathieu is inexperienced at FS, could play slot corner for sure and could play SS. We have a whole roster of SS's and it would be absurd to pay 9M for a slot corner. As much as I would like the deal to go down, he would just be an unnecessary luxury.
  2. 6M is decent....but why tie up so much money into Brown when he won't be able to get the same money elsewhere. Bruce is a money man...wait it out and Brown will be back. We may be able to sign him for far less that 6M.

I'm just not overly impressed with Roquan Smith....he sheds blocks very well and is a strong tackler, I just don't see the read and react from him. He seems like an athlete playing out of position when I watch him. If Tremaine Edmunds is anywhere close I say we trade and snag him. He's all over the place and has a better feel for the position. Smith has some mysterious medical issue, so we may be able to trade back and still get him though.
  4. Suh has dominated since day 1 in the league and continues to. He played 83% of the defensive snaps for the Dolphins. That ranks him 7 in the whole NFL. He has had games where he has played every snap. I think he's a warrior. If we could nab him for 6M I would be game...highly unlikely though. I would pass on him based on money not performance
  5. Super excited that they offered Trent Murphy....he's so valuable to this defense. I just hope we can seal the deal with him.
  6. Completely agree....Murphy would be #1 on my list. I think he offers a ton of versatility and could be re-signed for a rock bottom price tag since he's coming off of an injury and suspension. Brown is a tackling machine but I would honestly prefer a local stud in Navorro Bowman who grades out better and plays at a higher level. Bowman played for pennies last year in Oakland and graded out as one of the best ILB in the league last year. Brown may break the bank...9M+

I watched his USC tape and he looked really good. I still think he is coached up very well and he's maxed out. I don't see a lot of upside. He is Matt Ioannidis 2.0; which is not a bad thing b/c I think Ioannids is really good. He's not as athletic as Ioannidis coming out. He's a very safe player but a guy who we already have on the roster. Settle is only 20 years old, pass rush efficiency he was ranked 10th in CFB and he's one of the biggest bodies in the draft. His blend of size, skill and quickness are rare. I like Phillips I just think Settle has more upside and skill; he's not the technician that Phillips is nor has he developed his strength yet. Both are good prospects though.

Tim Settle is the guy....his combine numbers were pedestrian but hopefully we can nab him in the 2nd round. He's a flat out stud and never stays blocked. I watched the tape on Phillips and I just don't see it. I see a slow footed lineman with good hands. I think he's coached up very well but offers very little in the pass game. Settle is legit and he's going to be a stud.

I think Fitzpatrick is overrated. All of his snaps the last 2 years have been taken as a nickle defender. I don't see ball skills, elite footwork and if he can't play on an island in college how is he going to do it in the NFL. Tremaine Edmunds and Derwin James are the most dynamic players in this draft; they are going to be studs. If we can't draft one of those guys then we should trade out of the pick. I would be tempted to draft Vita Vea though. To me he's about the next safest bet in regards to our needs.
  10. I think the experienced vet thing in our case might be a little overrated. Ryan Grant is young, but he's a pro. I think he brings a lot of wisdom with his routes, ability to prepare over the summer and his tape speaks for itself. Plus, The only thing we are missing is that guy who can stretch the field. The guy that is a bit under the radar is Tyrell Williams. He's a really good intermediate route runner and is certainly a deep threat. I think he is a more polished version of Terrell Pryor.
  11. Alex Smith Trade Thread (Details Inside)

If there was a way to back out of this it would be a festivus miracle. Ideally, the trade gets revoked for tampering or something of that nature and Bruce Allen gets fired. We need a competent GM. This is just insane, i'm just waiting for this nightmare to be over.
  12. Alex Smith Trade Thread (Details Inside)

Does anyone know if it is a 3rd rounder this year or next year?
  13. Alex Smith Trade Thread (Details Inside)

I agree....I would prefer offering the 2nd round pick instead of a 3rd and Fuller. This is total bs. We will lose Breeland, Fuller and Kirk and get worse at QB and CB...and lose a 3rd round pick. This is a nightmare scenario right now.
  14. 2017 Roster Prediction

Practice squad signings start in about 10 minutes....I really hope Sudfeld, Harris and Davis are still around
  15. Game Day Thread - Skins at Bucs

He could be our London Fletcher....that kid can ball
  16. 2017 Comprehensive NFL Draft Thread

I like Lamp, but honestly I think Dion Dawkins out of Temple might be better. Dawkins reminds me of a baby Trent Williams. Very athletic, powerful and a finisher. Dion Dawkins has my pick.
  17. 2017 Comprehensive NFL Draft Thread

I don't really like him...he doesn't stay on blocks and doesn't play with much of a base. He has some tools but I think the Utah Center JJ Dielman is a better prospect to play guard. He could be had in the 4th round. What do you think about Dion Dawkins out of Temple? He is like a baby Trent Williams. If Budda Baker is not on the board in the 2nd...Dawkins would be my pick.
  18. 2017 Comprehensive NFL Draft Thread

McDowell is my guy too. Very talented. Deep draft too, I would love to get a few more picks. Round 1 DE Malik McDowell Michigan State Round 2 FS Budda Baker Washington Round 3 OG Dorian Johnson Pittsburgh Round 4: CB Howard Wilson Houston Round 4: RB Wayne Gallman Clemson Round 5: ILB Ben Gedeon Michigan Round 6: DT Jarron Jones Notre Dame Round 6: OT Dan Skipper Arkansas Round 7: QB Jerod Evans Virginia Tech Round 7: OLB Josh Carraway TCU
  19. 2017 Comprehensive NFL Draft Thread

I wouldn't draft a corner at #17...this draft is really really deep at CB. However, I would consider Sidney Jones in the second or third round considering he falls far because of his injury.
  20. 2017 Comprehensive NFL Draft Thread

Honestly, out of that group I would only be sold on McDowell. I think his talent and motor is off the charts....we have the line coach to get him more consistent. But I love Ju Ju Smith-Schuster, he is a baller and Zach Cunningham would be great, but I doubt he falls to us in the second. As far as the RBs in this draft, McCaffrey is the best RB he just doesn't have the burst like Cook, but Joe Mixon is the full package, 20 years old and seems like he has his head on straight. This is my ideal draft, hopefully it works out for us: 1st: Malik McDowell DE Michigan St. 2nd: Budda Baker S Washington 3rd: Joe Mixon RB Oklahoma 4th: Jarran Jones DT Notre Dame 4th: Blair Brown ILB Ohio 5th: Ryan Glasgow DT Michigan 6th: Jerod Evans QB Va Tech 6th: Avante Collins OT TCU 7th: De'Veon Smith RB Michigan 7th: Jermaine Eluemunor OG Texas A&M
  21. 2017 Comprehensive NFL Draft Thread

I like this scenario much better, especially if we could trade back and still get McDowell. But this would be my dream draft if possible. I just hope we can hit on half of our 10 picks. Round 1/ Malik McDowell, DE, Mich. St Round 2/ Budda Baker, FS, Washigton Round 3/ Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma Round 4/ Jarron Jones, DT, Notre Dame Round 4/ Blair Brown, ILB, Ohio Round 5/ Ryan Glasgow, DT, Michigan Round 6/ Jerod Evans, QB, Virginia Tech Round 6/ Aviante Collins, OT, TCU Round 7/ Jermaine Eluemunor, OG, Texas A&M Round 7/ De'Veon Smith, RB, Michigan
  22. He looked like a match up nightmare against Josh Norman this season. I would love for him to come to Redskins Park for about 8M a year.
  23. Speaking of the Browns, anyone hear any news on Terrelle Pryor?
