Audible_Red40
Wow. Imagine hearing this from "un-named" teammates, or even from media every day, outside of Slauson I guess. How could anyone go to work and hear trash about your abilities or lack there of everyday! Especially hiding behind a wall and not being man enough to say it with your name attached to it, so maybe you could take some of what you're dishing out. I don't think any Jets player can possibly say they're good right now. Tebow sure seems like a great dude and positive. But how could his demeanor and psyche handle all this? http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/tebow-terrible-jets-mates-rip-qb-article-1.1201722 In their eyes, he’s simply not very good. “He’s terrible,” a defensive starter told the Daily News. “We have Greg . . . and we have an athlete,” Slauson said. But could the Jets win with Tebow as the No. 1 quarterback?“Do I have to answer that question?” a veteran starter said, shaking his head. “We don’t look at him as a quarterback,” another starter said. “He’s the Wildcat guy.” “Hell, no!” another starter said. “You got to keep defenses honest. You just can’t line up in the Wildcat all the time. That won’t work.” “We can’t win running that sh--,” one player said. They think Tebow’s heroics in Denver were a mirage.“Now we’re depending on miracles?” a member of the organization said. “You can’t play that way.” The decision-makers don’t think that’s the right course of action. “It would take extreme poor play. . . . like a five-interception game,” said a prominent member of the organization. “Something where it was just ridiculous. It would take Mark to totally just sh-- the bed and become unglued (before there was a quarterback change).” So, who wants Tebow to be the starter?“Nobody,” a member of the team said. It doesn't stop there, now throwing WR's under the bus. “Look at some of the players he’s throwing to,” a Jets official said. “It’s garbage.”Said another Jets source: “I’ve seen better receiving corps in college than we have on our team.” That seems like a great organization and locker room to walk into. First off, piling on a back-up qb? This whole team is garbage!
Sweet Sassy Molassy
Ya know, for all the **** that's happened to the Skins on the field, at least we don't have to deal with a bunch of this nonsense coming out (at least it hasn't been prominent as of late). I'm not a Tebow fan by any means, and I don't think he's a good quarterback, but this is just not a good look for your team. He definitely doesn't deserve that type of backstabbing from his own teammates, he's done nothing but do his best at whatever is asked of him, this is petty. KingGibbs
I hope it continues to implode so we can get Ryan in as our DC. He's a helluva coach, but limited to coordinator status.

Hiro
I hope it continues to implode so we can get Ryan in as our DC. He's a helluva coach, but limited to coordinator status. Agreed. I would be ecstatic if he were here. The Ravens' defense hasn't been close to the level of dominance it had when he was calling the shots. He can't choose personnel and can't run an organization to save his life, but he's a damn good defensive coordinator.
martytheman
wow... these "unnamed" sources blast Tebow, but forget how awful sanchez is?? the guy REGULARLY has 10-22 passing days for about 150 yards, and it's been 4 years now!! People still want to defend him and call him an "elite" qb?? what a joke!
CrypticVillain
It's so messed up that Tebow continues to get treated the way he does. He hasn't done anything to deserve the type of treatment he gets. All he did was go out there and play dome football. He didn't tell ESPN to suck him off, he didn't tell the Broncos to trade him, he certainly didn't tell the Jets to trade for him. Now his own team is giving it to him, when they are the ones playing like some trash. Nobody on that team has any room to dog anybody skills. Tebow isn't that good as a QB, and that is putting it nicely, but the man has heart. He also wouldn't talk trash about his teammates off or on the record. Redskin4ever
This is not surprising coming from the Jets. They have always run their mouths about something, so why wouldn't they do the same thing about their own teammates. Although, ironically you would be hard pressed to find 5 starting QBs worse than Sanchez this year. Yet not a word about how bad he is. As far as Tebow, one of the reasons I like watching him is because what he does makes NO SENSE. There is no football universe where anything he does would be considered ideal, except win. He does things that just have you shaking your head, but then he wins. I can't explain it, his weaknesses are innumerable, yet he finds ways to make plays and win. If you are the Jets, why would you not play him at this point?

I imagine the Jets are probably tired and frustrated about hearing about Tebow, when the reality is that he's not very good. I don't think anyone is really in love with Sanchez either (Slauson's quote even reflects the sentiment that they're 'stuck' with Sanchez for the rest of the year), but the reality is that Tebow likely wouldn't do that much good. Yeah, they aren't going to do that much better with Tebow. In Denver, they knew he wasn't that good of a QB, but they knew that if they played good defense, and just kept close with the other team, they had a shot. That won't work with the Jets based on those comments. If Tebow comes in, they seem like they are going to give less effort.
beachboy757
I think that this is media driven. The media has been trying to force Rex Ryan to start Tebow since the beginning of the season to create big headlines. Now that Rex has stood firm behind Sanchez they are going to pick apart the Jets locker room to create more stories of drama. These players should not have blasted Tebow to the reporters, but the players are probably ready for him to go. Sanchez was not that good of a QB anyway and the added pressure of having Tebow there is causing him to completely implode.
Zazzaro703
I love this. It is my dream that Rex gets fired and becomes our D-Coordinator next year. The guy is a great motivator and coordinator, can't handle a head coaching job.
darrelgreenie
I guess Sanchez marginal edge over Tebow in the passing game makes up for the chasm of difference in rushing, playmaking and 4th qtr play.
Boss_Hogg
I don't like the two QB system. It disrupts the rhythm of the offense, QB and receivers. Dirty Sanchez to his credit has been very medium about it, either that or he really doesn't like to play football.
AsiaticSkinsFan
there are rumors coming out now that the quotes were from last season and training camp Slauson said quotes critical of Tebow in today's article were from late Aug. or early Sept. Said he believes Tebow has improved since then. https://twitter.com/BobGlauber/status/268851605686853632

Kostaskins
Maybe Laron Landry too?Dirty was talking a lot of **** before the Seattle game. Don't know how much trash talk Landry did when he was here cause of well my location being away from the dc area, but one thin is certain. Scott is usually the loud mouth on that team; however, cromorte has stepped it up a notch lately ever since ravies got injured.
Redskin4ever
I wish there was a team out there willing to give Tebow a shot so the debate can end and the ESPN media wave can move on to something else. I think the teams that could use him, they are afraid to play him in case he is successful. He can be successful in some things he does, but long term he won't be the QB you can win with. Not unless you are willing to completely do things differently. But in the short term he could be successful (like last year), and cause the team to have to make a tough choice. The Broncos were lucky that Peyton was available, otherwise they would be playing Tebow or someone lesser. If he plays and it works, you can't just replace him unless it's a marquee name. Otherwise, fans and media will be calling for that Tebow magic.
DWinzit
If Sanchez doesn't show improvement against the Rams, Rex should start Tebow. Either he'll prove himself or it shuts up the media who has created a QB controversy since the day Tebow was signed.
SittingBull
I love this. It is my dream that Rex gets fired and becomes our D-Coordinator next year. The guy is a great motivator and coordinator, can't handle a head coaching job. I would love this as well but sadly I think Shanahan's ego is way to big to allow a DC such as Ryan to coach his D with the amount of control he'd want. This is one case where I actually WANT Snyder to meddle and get something like this done.
Hazel-Ra
I dunno... good DC or not, Rex has plenty of his own baggage and would inevitably do something to embarrass us.

This is one case where I actually WANT Snyder to meddle and get something like this done. I'm not so sure. Keep in mind that the one thing Shanahan wanted was a 3-4 defense. Other than that, Haslett has had free rein to do what he wants with the defense (selecting players he wants, etc). I don't think Shanahan would care about having Rex Ryan as his DC. The only thing I'd guess would be that Shanahan would be concerned about Ryan running his mouth to the media.
Enforcer_FFX
LOL - was this unnamed D player on the team last year? "Terrible" Tebow beat that very Jets D last year.....Wow, they are circus.
