SkinsHokieFan
EDIT: If you do post in this thread, please make an actual numerical prediction. Yes both parties suck. Yes people have made wrong predictions before. This thread isn't about it, this is about the numbers and the game that is unfolding. Thanks --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Its now all about GOTV at this point. So based on everything you have read, what is your final prediction for the House, Senate and Governorships House: GOP +56 to get to 234 seats Senate: GOP +9 to make it a 50-50 tie. In a schoker O'Donell pulls out the win (I had to go out on a limb somewhere to make this interesting) Governorships: GOP+ 6 to get to 30 governoships nationwide Next 2 years is total complete gridlock. Congress and the President will posture for most of 2011, tax cuts will be "temporarily" extended during the lame duck session and "continuing resolutions' will keep the government funded. The only area where something might get done is the debt commision which is supposed to report in early December. By December 2011 it'll be about Iowa and New Hampshire and we will be in full on campaign mode for POTUS 2012
greenspandan
house: GOP +53 senate: GOP +7 somewhere in that ballpark. who knows. i do think/hope o'donnell will lose. just seems like a victory for flat out ignorance if she wins.

Agree. And as much as it pains me I hope Reid wins. Burgold
There were a lot of blitzes that got picked up. I don't think we stopped pressuring. I do think we have problems with zone. We have the softest damn zones. They all look like prevents.
thebluefood
I can't give definite numbers, but I see big gains for the Republicans; maybe on the same scale as 1994.

At this point I think 1994 is a given It was a plus 54 in the house and plus 7 in the Senate

Ellis
I can't predict numbers... but I firmly believe that the GOP will take majority and Steny Hoyer will be named minority leader.

Forehead
I'm going against the grain and predicting that the Dems keep control (barely) in the House. I have no reason for this since I don't study politics much, I'm just going against the grain here since everyone is going the other way. That strategy often works in football betting. Kilmer17
Im still up in the air. I still want to think that it will be close in the House- 44 seats to the GOP. And 7 in the Senate. HOWEVER, I do think their is a possibility that the GOP gets 60+ and gets 10 or 11 in the Senate. Keys will be early in WVA Senate and PA congressional races. If they break to the GOP, the Dems are going to get slaughtered worse than anyone expects.

Duckus
I am really really interested to see what happens. House: GOP +62 Senate: GOP +8 Governorships: GOP +7 There are so many unknowns right now - this is my top 3: 1) How accurate is polling and the generic party preference polling? With the death of landlines over the past decade, polling is becoming more difficult. Every cycle less and less people have landlines. I would not be surprised if many of these polls are way off (in either direction). 2) How effective is OFA. Is their GOTV efforts enough to make an upset? (only lose 25-35 seats). We have never had grassroots organization like OFA before. What is the effect? 3) Does the phrase "all politics is local" still apply? I have a feeling that phrase will not apply for this cycle. It seems many people are thinking nationally to vote locally.
